Can I just say, as someone who has grown up swimming in rivers and creeks, the Nile is surprising clear water lol. I love being able to see something outside of a tourist spot. That shot of the river from the desert is amazing!!!! It's more beautiful there than I ever imagined

All of your river cruise adventures (Cambodia, Myanmar, Amazon, and now Egypt!) have me interested in doing the same thing. It seems like a great way to get off the beaten track and see things that you would normally never visit. Great video, as always! They put a smile on my face everytime.

maladetts when we were in Egypt they told us that in the Nile there lives somekind of nilebug that gets in your bloodstream 😁 so they did advise us not to swim.
@whoever7033
@whoever7033 4 жыл бұрын
Crocodiles have been blocked from the nile in Egypt since the High Dam was built in Aswan . And it is cold cuz sun can't effect but the upper layer of the water which is nothing more than a couple of feet . Also it depends on the location , the visual here won't be the same as a kilometer ahead .

@@whoever7033 And what about the rest of the land up high? It's completely free of reptiles? Their habitat doesn't cross a certain geographical line within Egypt? Why wouldn't they just be born up the river after the dam? That sounds odd.

So interesting. I commend you both. A relative of mine went to Egypt and did a similar tour just before that political upheaval of several years ago. For a long time, I do not think many tourists have returned. My relative said it was crowded. So, your visit without crowds says a lot. I hope all goes well for the Egyptians in terms of redeveloping the tourism there. Such a lovely trip up the Nile you had!

118 degrees and you complain about it being freezing cold. Lol! Like Kara said to reset your body temperature. Probably times you want to be just dragged up the river in the water. Not like a cruise ship with swimming pools. But then again you have to watch for crocs!

That's the way it is in the desert. Once it's past 105' any wind can fell like it's coming from a blast furnace. And the water will feel colder, even if it's not. But the Nile is moving so fast, and I think it's deep, adds up to cold.

I was thinking the same thing. Back in my days of swim team we had to stay in the water on cold days to keep warm, because the air was the enemy. I feel like the Nile probably is naturally cooler, but the air difference would definately exaggerate the feeling.
