Gabby VG In my opinion, the place to start is education. Take a boating safety class. Boating safety classes are offered online from places like boatus.org/free/ or boat-ed.com or offered in person from the United States Power Squadron and the Coast Guard auxiliary. Passing a boating class may be required by law in your area, but even it its not, its something I recommend. Follow this education up with a FREE boat safety inspection of your vessel offered from the USPS and Coast Guard Auxiliary. If you fail a voluntary inspection from these two organizations, you do not get a fine / ticket, you get a sheet explaining what you need to be legal and safe for your specific boat in your specific area. What’s next? Continue your educational journey by joining a local boating club. Besides the UPSP and Coast Guard Auxiliary, any local marina manager may be able to help you find a local club. Anyways, that’s my opinion on where to start. Best wishes.

It kind of makes you wonder what the guy Steve Irwin was doing when he got killed by a stingray ? I mean they didn't look as though they were about to attack you and Lisa there. I know nothing about stingrays myself, are they regarded as being quite dangerous ? The really big ones look so majestic and graceful gliding through the water. My understanding of the Steve Irwin incident, which of course was on our minds on the boat ride out to Stingray City, was that he was swimming above them, too close, which intimidated them. Feeling like they might be attacked, one of them put its tail up to protect itself and by total coincidence it pierced his heart. We were all saddened by his death, but we knew he was playing with fire on almost every episode. The only time I have ever heard of anyone else having an issue with stingrays is when they inadvertently stepped on one in the water. That is why we shuffle our feet (the stingray shuffle) when walking into the ocean from the beach if we believe there are stingrays in the water. In Stingray City, the water was so crystal clear there was no chance any of us would step on one by accident. I have seen large Manta Rays leap from the water out in the Atlantic and you are right, they look majestic. Thank you again for watching and being a part of our community.
