I can't lie even though Germany, Belgium and Austria were the main focuses of this DLC, after playing them all Hungary might be my favourite. The focus paths for historical, communist and especially monarchy are just so good and fun, especially if you get a good non-historical situation. Hungary went from a focus revamp to one of the best trees of the DLC imo

I had a good ahistorical game as Democratic Monarchist Hungary and through referendums got my territory and peacefully merged with Romania to form one kingdom. I fought two wars, one against the Czechs and Yugoslavs and the other against Italy. I took the rest of Slovakia, puppeted and Balkanized Yugoslavia, gave southern Italy and Sicily to my only ally Greece, and had a nice Italian puppet in the north. Then I merged with Sweden because the king was the kind of Sweden (somehow I ended up at war with Sweden) and then the king took full control and merged our nations to form the kingdom of Hungaro-Sweden or something like that. It was Blursed. Oh and Germany went Democratic Constitutional Monarchist and formed Mitteleuropa.

The alternate fascist Hungary path is so OP because on historical, you can join the Axis early and everyone accepts your demands (Transylvania needs a bit of German mediation) Edit: even possible to form Greater Hungary before WW2 starts in March 1939 (damn lost my heart adding this)

I'm glad Hungary has a new focus tree, it's definitely much better now. Btw, I was in Budapest in August 2023. It's a beautiful city and I had a great time there! Overall, it's a very good place to spend a few days of rest. After the germans beat France, isolated the UK and Italy lost a lot of international recognition as a Great Power due to several blunders and losses, that's when Hungary had no other choice, but go fully with the germans.
