Corinne Drewery is such a class act. I remember when I saw my first Swing Out Sister video on VH1 in the early 80s. I knew then this is a very special band...

Please---don't EVER mention Madonna and/or Britney Spears names in the same breath as Corrine! :) Those two are simply bimbos who got terribly lucky and filthy rich pandering to other fools. Neither of those two are even a slight bit as talented as Corinne--in a just world she'd be the household name!

Wasn't it great that pop of the 80s had more substance than today's throw away trash, stuff like this is timeless and is real class it survives and is there still to be adored
@christophergraves67254 жыл бұрын
You are right, Skaterbun. Popular music now is either insipid or coarse (here I refer to Hip Hop). The 80's sophisti pop was a real step forward (or backward to the better days of Big Band music and other infusions of jazz into mainstream pop music). The 80's, by and large, was just a better time period.

To this very day I love Swing Out Sister's music. Andy's keyboard playing, compositions, and arrangements are killer, blending pop and jazz so seamlessly and brilliantly, and Corinne's voice the same ... such a great sound, tone, and inviting style.
