If you’re reading this and have kids struggling to hit - study these videos, it will make a world of difference in your players and your own coaching abilities. Trust me, kids hate striking out and feeling disheartened, but if you do your homework and study these videos, you will teach them to swing correctly, hit the ball, and may even help them love the game of baseball. I’ve single-handedly used his channel to teach my little league baseball teams to hit over the last 3 years. I can usually recognize what’s going wrong with their swing now and am able to straighten them out with his advice quickly. Giving credit where it’s due - this guy is the best.

Man I've fallen down the rabbit hole of KZbin/ social media hitting coaches as I'm trying to reach my son. You are easily my favorite. I feel like there's some gimmicky stuff out there but you work in just the right amount of tools/ aids which actually seem helpful. Also appreciate that you don't seem to get involved with trolling and these petty online beefs between coaches. Keep up the great work! Appreciate the content.

I appreciate that! I’ve been around a while but was under another name until a year ago. I appreciate you following. I am not immune to the online stuff I have my haters and try to cancel out the noise.

Look up teacherman hitting. No reason to look at anything else. This is all outdated nonsense.

Very good Josh! Too many coaches do not know how to teach in a reasonable way of how to get connected. They tend to skip the hiding of the barrel and go straight to a violent flip of knob toward the pitcher and barrel pointing to catcher without first going to the hiding of barrel sequence (causing bad control of barrel and wrong technique of bat lag)

Very very good real explanation, thankyou. you just showed all the flaws that happen because of misteaches or misunderstanding of teaching extension, top hand, foot down early etc... all those keys are 100% accurate but can easily lead to a bad swing if the teacher or hitter doesn't really grasp sequence or that the next part of the sequence happens with overlap. but for young kids who struggle its might be better to explain connection and let the hips and shoulders and hands come together if they have problems with their hands constantly jumping the sequence.

This is a great Breakdown of the swing process. Do you have anything that goes more in-depth for connection - lag - extension. I'm creating a playlist for my sons team to watch. This video is first on that list followed by the load to launch video and a connection drill video but something that goes in depth each part of the swing would be great. You do a really good job with your instructional content explaining the process and making it understandable. So I'd really like a playlist that consists of all your content for each phase of the swing.

Thus; I left Hank Aaron and Ted Williams; started with top hand; palm down; they turned the barrel; by the time the impact of swing struck the baseball; top hand was up; only to have top hand have palm down again; returning to where they started off in the original batting stance.

Coach Cathcart - I know this was a video from a year ago. Is there anyway at some time on Instagram; where you will demonstrate and explain; the very end of the baseball swing philosophy of a non power hitter role follow through on a swing vs. a power hitter. By non power hitter I mean where the coach instructs the hitter; to essentially only concentrate on keeping ball on ground (for example; hit and run); and line drive singles vs. a Hank Aaron/Ted Williams. Virtually no one grasps what Aaron and Williams did with their wrists in a bat swing completion. The term "snapping the wrist" has hitters confused that Williams and Aaron snapped their wrists right before or at the exact same time as striking the ball. Instead; their slow motion swings; had what appeared to have their top hand - palm up while striking the ball; only then in the follow through; ending with exchanging shoulders had their top hand switching from palm up to palm down (it was that "switching"; was the apparant "technique" in the musunderstood term "rolling/turning":the wrist)

Is that a training swing specialty bat? Noticing the very large knob on it.
@hittingdoneright5 ай бұрын
It’s a Camwood bat with the puck knob I believe . I did this video a long time ago so I may be mistaken but I believe it’s the Camwood game bat

Just want to know where you stand with the Cam-wood program because it’s seems kind of the opposite of this video it’s all about hands to me anyway really taking the cam-wood knob to the pitcher and taking the lower half out. I can see where kids get confused. I am just trying make sure I am teaching the right things not trying to be disrespectful. Thanks
@hittingdoneright2 жыл бұрын
Regardless of the training bat/tool the swing works from the ground up. The Cam woods are designed to build strength in the hands to deliver the barrel without dumping the barrel. So that program is more oriented to upper body
