Bob, you're kicking off the season in grand style. I adore the Nutcracker -- straight or swung! The beautiful Maclean renditions may seem a little more respectful to some, but I also love the Martin and Clinton numbers that tinker with the metre. These treatments, too, predate the famous Ellington arrangement by twenty years, in the case of Clinton, at least.

Elizabeth, the Maclean isn't swing but it fit with the non traditional presentation of this music. I like the Clinton selections a bit more than the Martin versions. More to come, glad you enjoyed this presentation as always Elizabeth. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving too! ☺😊🙂

I love these old christmas cards, i had lots of them vintage style ones from 1950s which my Dad got. and we lost it all when we moved house. Plus the nutcracker has some of my fav songs. Now my parents are both gone so these images makes me sad and i never celebrate xmas anymore.
