While listening to these incredible recordings, in my imagination I can picture my hard-working immigrant Grandparents perhaps hearing these same songs on their wind-up Victrola. Maybe they were happily preparing for their baby daughter's first Christmas (my Mother, born 1924). How I wish I had a time machine so I could travel back and spend a holiday with all of them. Thank-you for these vintage treasures, and Peace and Happiness to everyone this Christmas season.

That is the great thing about music, it has the ability to transport us to another place and time. I often have the same thoughts about my family before me. Thank you for leaving such a great comment and for watching the channel. I will be posting more music like this during the week. You may also want to listen to the short post of Christmas music I just posted a week ago. Have a wonderful Christmas as well!

Born in 1955 and I am young again listening to these vintage Christmas songs of long ago. I remember putting on the vinyl records with a little scratch here and there. No TV just the stereo that was the size of a small dining table and listening for hours while we decorated the Christmas tree. A lot of fond memories of a Christmas past. Now that I’am a Christian I love the memories even more. Love my Lord and my savior. Happy Birthday Lord Jesus.

Just love these pioneer singers - they were exceptional when they sang together in the Trinity Choir and other Victor/Columbia choral groups. The quartets and soloists were outstanding as well. First heard these recordings about quarter of a century ago, and nothing today comes close. Thanks for posting!

Thank you so much, GooGle, for reconnecting me with my past! I apologize for my grammar on the previous post! Sgroi Roots here, so many memories. Every childhood Christmas, I woke to this, among a few other albums. I hadn't seen the name of the album, and missed the chance to ask before time marched by. I had an old worn cassette with a dirty recording of a few songs, that I had managed to hold onto over the years, but it was a mix-tape, so i couldn't replace it. Last year was my baby girls first Christmas, and it was so magical for me, and hearing these melodies, took me back and gave me an appreciation for Christmas I had believed lost forever. Thank you for completing at least this longing part of me so that i may now help preserve it for all. Love to all and each other! Merry Christmas GooGle!

People were glad to have each other and just to be alive. Times were not easy. Diseases were wiping out many and wars was a risk too. People stuck together then. People today are getting upset over how the president sips water. The good life might lead some to misery!

@@superchuck3259It's true: if I have to wear a mask, someone is offended I'm making a political statement, not protecting my frail Mother.....who will love this music when I get a chance to play it for her. I'm teaching the young folks in our family how to small talk, as many young folks do not know how to do this these days, by writing them lots of fun postcards sharing stories that go way back about the family, about their mother, about myself when I was their age.....and one of them just this week wrote back a lovely long letter!!! Teach them to small talk, folks!!!💌🕯️

I knew there was an innocence to these songs, but I just figured out: these singers are trying to sing in a sacred way, not "sexy" like more modern songs. This is evidence: people did have a sense of decency back then.

Woderful, divine sounds of Christmas music. Great tradition. And I don't mean overdecoration and overshopping, but the feeling of Christmas. It was, I think, in 1994. I was working as a teacher in a school in Moscow. A group of americans, just young people from USA come to visit us and to watch and learn how English and english and american literature was tought in our school. They all lived on a steamer that was convertet into a hotel. And we, russian teachers, were invited to the concert with Christmas music. And these american boys and girls sung so beatufully that I began to cry. Tears just come. It was my first encounter with this tradition of singing carols and hymns. Thank you for this selection. And for reminding me of this concert.

Merry Christmas. It's Dec. 22 , 2020. I have been fortunate to catch some of these songs on some of my favorite old tyme cartoons. Like, when Popeye was Young. And, Steamboat Mickey. However, I do feel there is a Reverence to these songs that has been lost over time. Except, except for Good Ole James Brown. Yeah, James Brown sang some truth as well. I read a lot of the comments here. Beautiful stuff. I think the Paranormal People [ Spirits in my house] are in agreement. They really piped up for Hallelujah. My house was moved to this location in 1890. Man, they are triggered with this music like never before. Wow!. Well, Thank you for posting this. May God Bless you always in all you do, in Jesus Mighty Name, Hallelujah, Amen. Salute' .
