I totally agree, we were warm up band for them in the 60's and became good friends, and sorry to say they were never the same when Ray left.

@@bonkeydollocks1879 the soul agents, then a band called the Skylons, the SBJ's were not the same once Ray left. the originals Ray Ennis, Guitar, Ralph Ellis, Guitar, Norman Khulk, Drums, and Les Brade, Bass Guitar, we had some great times. the revised band are good with Alan etc...though

@@prossco2 I bet you had some great times, I could ask you questions all night to be honest, this stuff fascinates me. When the resurgence of 60's bands happened in the late 80's to late 90's I saw loads of bands on their second wind as it were and I managed to catch the blue jeans a couple of times with Colin on lead ( have you seen him on KZbin in the remo four at the beat club doing Peter gun?! It's amazing!) and I was blown away. I even did a charity gig for sight savers at Birmingham Town Hall with about a thousand other people strumming along to believe it or not twist and shout with the blue jeans for an hour to raise money. I know things change and although they have carried on keeping the music alive it's sad Ray has gone let alone the talk of underhanded Ness. Colin passed first and I heard of les passing on one of my numerous trips to the cavern to see beatles tribute bands and a band called the shakers from two old timers strumming by the mersey, I heard him tell his mate about les passing on. It really does feel like and end of an era. I am seeing the searchers bow out on Sunday, gerry on his last tour, Brian Poole retiring and of course old age calling time on people. It is very sad to me hear of this happening.

@@bonkeydollocks1879 yes it is sad so many have Faded away as they say, at 70 i am fairly luck to be able to keep going, albeit not so much as back in the day. playing next w/e at our local community hall with some other 'oldies' as you say, but we can still play, even with arthritis setting in, maybe not as flexible fingers though. i spoke with Alan Lovell some weeks ago and they may be coming here to do a gig later this year, but we will see, depends on commitments
