Spot on with this lesson. Everything that we did in our chipping lesson with our PGA Hope coaches re-enforced what you just showed us. I love all your tips and lessons, you’re one of the best KZbin instructors.

When I learned this (a wedge matrix program with my skytrak) it immediately took like 5-6 strokes off my scores every round. It's been among the best parts of my game.

Thanks for the tip. Really simple and gives me something to go out and test and then apply at the course.

This feels like one of the most useful tips that I have come across for these shorter shots. I have always struggled with consistency but this has made it so simple!

I use a similar technique that I came up with 20 years ago, where I use a reverse-overlap grip, take the club back to parallel with the ground, and then through to a finish similar to yours. Don’t hit it as far as you 😂 but I have a 10 yd gap using every club from LW (25 yds) to 7i (75 yds). It’s designed to get the ball on the green within guaranteed 2-Putt range.

I need this in my life. I play off 8 and I can’t get it lower and it’s because of these sort of distance shots, long games good, chipping and putting are good but I often try to leave myself a full shot into a green because the 50-75 yard shots are just guess and hope.

Spot on mate I struggle with this so my hcap is 6.3 need to practice it a lot more

Go out and play a round from one of the forward tees. This will have you encountering these yardages almost every hole. It's like having 14ish holes of short game practice under pressure of scoring. I just started doing this a few weeks ago and dropped 1.5 strokes from my index.

my yardage card that hangs on my bag has the carry/rollout distances for half swings from 8 iron down. thanks for the confirmation Pete

The challenge is getting some spin on these partial wedge shots. Isn’t clubhead speed what generates spin? It appears (from the face-on view) that your ball position is SLIGHTLY back of center 🤔 I assume that’s ok so as to have “ball first” contact and a slower trajectory. Good stuff (as always) 👍🏻

Great video Pete however this becomes so much harder when you try it of the grass. I find it much easier off of a mat. Can't wait for the Golf bidder with Rick. is there a Bullard rematch on the cards? Cheers

I don’t know why I hit all my clubs pretty well but I always shank a half speed wedge

Anyone here, not just Pete, have any swing or set up thoughts for the 20 - 50 yard shots that would ensure I don't shank the ball into next year?

So you are encouraging amateurs to rely on one of the hardest clubs in the bag to hit well ?
