The world should have a standing Ovation for SCOTT JOPLIN for composing so many amazing Rag time pieces for us to enjoy! He truly is the King of Ragtime :-)

Absolutely! Look out for rags by Joseph Lamb and also those by James Scott, if you want some more really good ones.

I'm so jealous of how good you are :( Do you play everyday? And how long? And how long does it take you to learn a piece? For example, Peacherine or Maple Leaf?
@KristenMosca8 жыл бұрын
+Roland Schlösser I usually play 1-2 hours a day if I can. That's all my work schedule really permits. It takes a good month for me to learn a brand new piece, and that's only if I make sure to spend time on it every day. A lot of times I'm working on a bunch of things at once so it takes me even longer. It's rough. :P

Hello From Canada Kristen ,, Just had to tell you how much I like to listen to your playing and watching your videos. I was at Disney a few years back and was lucky enough to watch and listen to you playing the Peacherine Rag. Great stuff so keep it up .Never enough ragtime players. A quick question,, where did you pick up the figurines you had sitting on your piano?

Hi Kristen! Love your Rag covers. I'm currently practising a few myself and hope to upload them soon. Do you know Gladiolus Rag? Anyway, I've seen this piano in a lot of videos so going to Disney Land and recording a Rag on this piano is now up there on my bucket list! Perhaps I'll see you there and we'll have a good old fashioned cutting contest! Keep up the good work :)

@RWBHere2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for not taking it at breakneck speed. This was a walking dance, and rags were intended to be played at march tempos. Too many pianists think that those genres should be played like some sort of frantic race speed, which destroys all of the dynamics and beauty of the music.
