No need for any software mods or updates the computer will still tell the actuator to open and close and it will operate as normal just without the flaps in place

Hey @sam. When you removed the intake manifold was the starter motor easily accessible? I've got a starter issue and need to prep the car for the starter arriving tomorrow.

Sam,Is it not true that these (efficient) flaps cause a smoother stalling of the engine while saving the dual mass wheel? And do efficient flaps affect acceleration in the low RPM range ??? M87 2.0d M47

Why is this required and which are the consequences? Doesn't this affects the engine warm up process or the power this delivers?

If you don't remove the swirl flaps they can fail and fall into your intake and destroy your engine, the down side is that low end torqu can be lost due to fuel and air not mixing as well, real world driving their is no differance

Swirl flaps are only made to reduce emissions at idle running. There won't be any difference in power output. If anything, the power output will increase if you have bad swirl flaps.

Is much more easy if u completly remove strut bar, coz is few bolts more and much more space also for engine bay and small bolts use some hand tools not akku

How many miles had your car done before you did the swirl flap delete? I have a BMW Alpina D3 saloon M47 engine.

it had done just under 150,000 miles mate

Mine has just done 160k and removed mine a few weeks ago no sighn of damage on mine but when I went to un do the tiny t5 screw on each flap the screw shattered so it wS proberbly ready for going

22mm on 2ltr diesel and 33mm on 3ltr diesel the flaps are bigger on 3ltr as the intake holes are bigger and their fore needs a bigger hole to allow the flap to go through
