@alanarriaga6204 Warriors are 10th or 11th place in the west? Mediocre team. The shoe fit with Wiggins might be better. But the shoes have walked too many miles and now the shoes are worn out. Time for a change.

Good trade imo! Dubs only gave up one protected pick and Wiggins basically. Wiggins is a downgrade from Jimmy and once Steph declined he was probably on his way out anyways. This is probably the last big move the Warriors have to make, unless they wanna mortgage their entire future. But they owe it to Steph to at least try. Jimmy is a proven closer which is one of the Warriors' main problems. They literally cannot stop throwing games in the clutch and now they have one of the best closers in the game along with Steph.

I'm going to say this, I just hope Jimmy Butler knock some sense into Steve Kerr. I hope he is resistant to small ball lineups and put the head coach and check to make sure it doesn't happen. Play big, win games. Play small, lose games

Disgruntled Jimmy was putting up comparable numbers to happy Wiggs... While I'm sad to lose Wiggs, this really isn't a bad trade, considering what we gave up. Jimmy should be coming in very happy and should come out balling (steady 25-ish PPG and good D). Time will tell, of course, but I don't think this was a horrible trade.
@maxmeier5323 күн бұрын
Warriors could coast with Wigs, not really competing for anything but the first round play offs. With Butler they have a still slim, but better chance to get to 2nd round or even the Conference Finals, if things fall in place for them (ie, they stay healthy, other teams have injuries or run cold).

Warriors are falling on their face opening games and closing games. We may have hosed ourselves obtaining Butler, but overpaying is almost always going to have to happen for the stars. Luka’s recent trade was an anomaly, which is why this one hurts even more now. (I think the first round pick hurts me the most.) Regardless, consolidating the roster talent is a smart move given the obvious offensive struggles this season. Curry has not been himself. Maybe Butler can come in, fire up the troops, and provide the motivation to get these guys into the play-in or better. Crazier things are possible too. Appreciate the content!

That makes sense, since Jimmy is obviously younger and better than he was a few years ago. Nothing screams clutch like upsetting a team in the first round. Hakeem won me some bets in ‘96, and I hear he’s available. Make it happen Dunleavy 😂😢😭

Well, here we go. 2 m’effing years of this. Call me when the Dubs get interesting again. I can see how this can work beyond all expectation, but can see the myriad ways this can become a pig’s breakfast. I dunno… Lifelong Warriors fan but may have to go watch Orlando, Cleveland or Detroit for something fun and inspiring. I like our young guys a lot. I liked Wiggins in blue and gold. I am all over the place on this.

Thanks for posting so soon, Swish. Your commentaries are sane, soothing and well thought out.
@SwishCulture3 күн бұрын
Thanks, Shem! I definitely get the frustration, and while I see what the Warriors are doing, I also see what's just as important which is what they're NOT doing. They're showing what they prioritize. Ownership wants to see the young guys, but Curry is tied to Dray/Kerr. Losing Klay was rough enough on Steph Curry. I imagine losing Dray might be an issue as well, not to mention Kerr. I think they're trying to let these guys ride out. Owners sold on Curry in '23, but this is a last opportunity. They are willing to go into luxury taxes if these guys come close to winning this season, but if not, they have the young guys as backup to where they'll pivot once they've decided chip aspirations are "done". This is where JK/Moody come in.
@shemsuddinmillard31723 күн бұрын
Thanks. There are some bright notes. If the Dubs can make a playoff run. Even two rounds will be huge. The young guys will have three veterans that know playoff basketball as well as anyone. And they have succeeded beyond and right up to expectations. This mentoring, along with the competitive fire can define the culture and fortunes of the Warriors for decades to come. Looked at it from this view, acquiring Jimmy Butler could be a gift that keeps giving that no one appreciated when it was given.
@raquelcarey17593 күн бұрын
For me personally, I feel the ONLY reason we won this trade is because with a guy like Jimmy he's going to hold Kerr ACCOUNTABLE something Steph and Draymond and the entire organisation doesn't seem to know how to do. In Jimmy Kerr will be tested no more dog shit line ups on the court just give Jimmy until after the all star break. Kerr will either ship up or ship out. Wiggins was starting to look more comfortable almost like his 2022 version of himself but in Jimmy we got a leader someone who isn't afraid of Kerr or Draymond and he's someone who even Draymond has to RESPECT. 😊

@SwishCulture Yep, although it appears based on high level sources, such as Sam Amick, that a KD trade was almost done. Statements about the Suns owner coveting Draymond were put out. I do not see how this is a win for the warriors. Wigs is averaging more right now and has been our best player besides a lone good night for curry. We have two huge egos on our team now and Kerr couldn’t adjust to make kuminga a main focal point in the attack I don’t think he will adjust for jimmy either. Wigs is younger and has played constitently since his dad passed. Jimmy is mid 30’s with injury history as you mentioned but that could matter little as we only have a small sample of wigs being a day in and day out player for us. And we didn’t need Schroeder as pods has balled recently but Lindy had promised

The proof of the pudding...well, you get that I'm sure. The hope is that they've provided enough help to Steph Curry. The FO was under a lot of pressure to make something happen. If they can't produce, then it's going to be a pivot to the young players with JK at the forefront and Curry playing off him.

Terrible trade and it reeks of desperation. It just makes a mid team worse. The amount of roster holes and old and declining Jimmy will have to try and fill is crazy. He's going to need replace Wiggins POA defending duties, Dennis secondary shot creator duties....will need to provide offense while Steph is on the bench. All while generally being injury prone and less available than he used to be not to mention they are going to pay him $60m per from next season for the pleasure which is just insane. The team may have managed to hang on to JK and Podz in the deal but JK will be gone in the off season almost certainly. There is just no way they can pay him now unless they decide to blow it up then and rebuild. What they really should have been doing is blowing the whole damn thing up.
