With the Warriors' bench outperforming the league, should Golden State continue prioritizing depth, or does it risk undermining their star players’ contributions?

Swish, you forget that small ball has been Coach Kerr’s ace in the whole. This has also been his greatest problem - height and size. The teams that have beaten them have blended height and size with 3 point shooting and speed. This will cause turnovers and problems for GSW because they can’t shoot 3 pointers when the people who are guarding them can shoot 3 pointers also and are quicker. Remember, GSW has not proven they can overcome the Lakers. Either way, GSW will need to get by them in the west before facing Cleveland in the east. They will lose without height.
@SwishCulture11 күн бұрын
The Lakers have had a relatively easy schedule especially over their last 10. The earlier games they struggled. I'm not quite sold just yet.
@kirkreid865211 күн бұрын
@ What I mean is that the Warriors will need to get by the Clippers, or the Lakers in the west before they face Cleveland in the east. The Lakers proved last year that the small ball Warriors can’t with in a championship series without height, or 3 Superstars. Remember, GSW did not improve in the area that they needed to improve, so they went into the season and achieved unexpected results. The Clippers record did not indicate they could beat the Warriors but their coach knew how to break the Warriors game down to matchups. He knows the weaknesses of small ball and with James Harden as the floor general managed to win 2 games. Believe me, every coach now has a game plan to win against the Warriors. This will make height with the Warriors a must come trade season.

Turnovers!! Turnovers!! and Free throws!! Free throws!!!! - just ridiculous! Need to fix these two issues quickly. Need to focus. This is simple math that will beat GSW every time if they don’t fix it. Also defense in general during the Clippers wasn’t up to their current standard, especially on Powell. JK - ok … moments of great play, but still moments of poor decisions, clunky, and forcing one on one when not necessary. Just a general check in comment. Not saying he was the reason we lost to the Clippers. Everyone is at fault on that one, except maybe Wiggins. With that said, if JK is going to the line frequently then his value drops significantly if he isn’t making free throws at 80%+. Same for Wiggins. BP & Moody need to play better as well. LW can’t look like a deer in headlights. Needs to be more confident & decisive about shooting.

@Cedric-i5v11 күн бұрын
If you are not stopping the other team, take a wild guess what happens? I’ll wait. Add missing uncontested FREE throws and no rebounding you need a magic wand to overcome that. Kerr needs to come up with defensive schemes that all five guys on the floor can excel at and keep opponents off the boards. Their problems, all of them, center around defense or lack there of. If you give your opponent more opportunities to score than you yourself are producing you will lose and that is nothing new. The Warriors don’t get 40% of calls from the referees and if you don’t hit the few you do get along with giving the opponents everything else, YOU AIN’T GONNA WIN. This is reasonably simple to fix. Remove the pressure of missing free throws with STRONG rebounding and defense and the missing free throw stat will be just that, an unimportant stat. But if you hand your opponent no defense and no rebounds you are pretty much wasting your time even showing up to play. Every play when you don’t have the ball must be a winner for your team. And that equals defense and rebounding. Cause if you are causing defensive havoc and rebounding the basketball your season will go a lot better. After all, that IS what wins championships. A whole lot of heart and even more DEFENSE 👍🏽

It's far more easy than that. Watch the game and see how the Clippers use the Warriors against themselves. No one. I repeat, no one on the Warriors can on ball defend. They all rely on help. The Clippers know this and they game plan around it. Step 1: execute a strong move (drive / pick /etc.) Step 2: expect the help to come Step 3: Pass out of the help Step 4: Wide open shot Rinse and repeat over and over. Most of the Clippers' shots were wide open or late contests. They know the Warriors have to scramble and force the scramble to occur. Teams that attempt to ISO constantly fail against the Warriors. But those that commit to drive and kick, beat the Warriors easily.

Norm been a problem for the Warriors and been saying the freethrows were an issue for about 2 years now. 2022 Steph just went nuclear most of the time, so it covered it up. 2023, we lost too many games that were close for no reason. This season, it will be part of our downfall. We have to fix it before it's too late. We need to fix the freethrow issue more than overturning the ball, especially since that's always been an issue!
@kirkreid865211 күн бұрын
@@Nonpfixion remember my friend that GSW generally don’t receive calls from the Refs. In the past if they made all of their free throws, it still would not be enough to win. Turnovers are the natural result of the defense in the league catching up to the motion offense of small ball. Also, when you play 12 men in a game, the turnovers are reduced because the 1st and 2nd units are playing together. This is fine until you have an injury and you have a whole to plug. This will completely control your substitution process and cause more turnovers. Add to an injury, the lack of a big man and rim protection, the result is a tight game where odds favor the points in the paint.

JK has played less than 20 minutes for 3 straight games, with a low of 15 tonight. Can't imagine he won't be complaining out loud, shortly. His hopes of a max contract are almost surely gone. There is a balance in officiating in the league that is driven by 2 opposite factors. Factor 1 is that fans claim they want to see a game that is more physical with less interruptions. Factor 2 is the rules. To harsh of foul calling can really disrupt the flow of the game and make it totally boring. Consequently the league has settled somewhat on a level of physical play to happen where the refs are instructed to swallow their whistles more frequently. With that direction, I think teams like the Grizzleys are coaching their players to get extreme with physicality. I've watched Eddy get quite aggressive where easier going players are getting into his face telling him to tone it down or else. I don't think this is normal for Eddy. I really think the players are being coached to be utterly physical. The last couple of years has been completely disgusting on the calls they let go vs. some of the calls they make. NBA refs are always stunned when players go off o them. And I realize that most players never foul, or so they think. And many refs like the players have temper issues and don't like to be called out or stood up to. Some refs are really bad at this and I think most players and fans know who those refs are. But these refs who lose it quickly and start throwing T's on teams for this or that really need to be able to justify heavily to the league officials as to why they threw out those T's on various players and coaches. My opinion is that more T's are thrown quickly than should be than there are T's that should be called and get missed. Some refs just need to let some yelling at them just slide off their backs. But most importantly the game needs to have more physical fouls called to help put an end to the shoving, the hammering, the secret tugging and nudges (yes, players are taught how to do those and try and not be seen doing it) and quit calling fake fouls that they get sucked into calling by players like Harden, Doncic, many others. I think until the refs fix their consistency on what should be called, how hard a foul should be, if it disrupts the play. etc.... that coaches should be allowed more challenges in games to correct bad reffing. Also, the NBA officials have the big monitors in New Jersey. For pete sakes, just let them make the correct or confirming call and just give it to the refs without sitting there for minutes for the ref to review it on tiny screens. What is wrong with that? No question that NBA reffing needs an overhaul to correct their bad judgement and decisions. If you don't correct these things now you'll just drive the NBA to be like the fake wrestling leagues eventually. Next thing you know they will start to "script it" for entertainment and ratings which basically destroys the sport. I'm for keeping the sport more pure. Just follow the rules and call it and get a better balance than what they have now.
@boogie762213 күн бұрын
Even though we just lost to the clippers and missed Free throws we still didn't get as many calls as them harden got to the line more he's a bait fouler and then that foul they called on Steph saying he fouled harden in the shooting motion which is wasn't and then that late foul called at the end of the 3rd quarter for 3pt shot foul smh extra 5 points even with missed free throws the warriors would've won cause the ref's gave the clippers at least 15 extra points for the game
