The back pockets are from left to right are for gas mask, mess kit and water flask. The back pack long pockets left and right are for rifle anti tank grenades.The two inside straps are used to buckle the trouser suspenders to help carry the load of fully packed trousers with hand grenades etc.

I find them a bit heavy when loaded, and mine's not even fully loaded. But yes, it's impressive in scope and execution. Wearing that you have what you need for a day or so, coupled with the snap pack, a few more days. Yours looks like the 83 Taz pattern with darker colors and larger patterns. Looks unissued to! Mine is older and more faded but still functional! Brilliant piece of kit indeed!

It's probably a contract variation. Sometimes, different timeframes, contractors etc, the base fabric would be lighter or darker tan/khakis.

Hello, I am swiss and i have a question ! Where did you buy this M70 combat parka with TAZ 83 pattern ? I own the TAZ 83 pant and jacket but not the M70 parka and field pack. I want the new colors one not the faded one 😉 Thank you for your videos

Very in depth review and comparison i recently ordered one of these for its great versatility . By the way though quick question how would you recommend to go about washing this ? I was going to dry clean it but because of the reinforced material on the elbows I assumed that would probably be a bad idea
@DevinK Жыл бұрын
You can just machine wash and air dry

good video. one correction would be that the e-tool cover actually attached to the integrated backpack through two metal d-rings rather than the leather duty belt.

Fantastic video once again and it's about my passion Swiss Alpenflage uniform, I have collected the m70 trousers and jacket plus the fabric back pack, M70 helmet ⛑ plus the M83 trousers and jacket plus the black leather and woollen gaiters plus I have two Alpenflage tent halves which I will use on wild camps in the Uk,was wondering if you help me with what the base layers the Swiss soldiers wore underneath the M70 jacket in thev70,s 80,s e.g did they have a special name for that item of clothing ,love your style of presentation 😀

It was just the standard wool uniform in the winter and in the summer it would be just a t shirt

Why compare with a American shirt, not the jacket?
@DevinK3 жыл бұрын
Because the Swiss garment was both a shirt in the Sumer and a over jacket in the winter. The Americans did stuff different in their r&d at the time then the Europeans. The American stuff does one job where a lot of Europeans had heard that did more then 1 job.
