Taking an AI-driven approach to wildfire risk modelling

Over the past two decades, wildfires have burned an average of seven million acres per year and are an intensifying hazard worldwide. At Swiss Re, we are familiar with the profound impact of wildfires and the damage they can cause, and our goal is to provide the best risk view to our clients. That is why we have partnered with Bellwether ‪@XTheMoonshotFactory‬ from Google’s parent company, Alphabet. By building tools that incorporate geospatial data and machine learning to better understand and predict changes in the physical world, this model adds a different risk view and provides new insights to our CatNet® solution. This complements our existing layer of data by providing more granular insights.
