Who better to take our brand new Pedal Board Reconciler, Swiss Things, out for a spin than Mason Stoops? In addition to his session work, Mason is consistently playing and recording and he unabashedly pours over guitar gear, which has lead him to become incredibly knowledgeable about both historical and contemporary instruments and effects.
Watch as Mason runs through most of the Swiss Things features and vibes out with awesome weirdo vintage gear.
To keep up with Mason Stoops whether he is touring, recording, or playing at venue near you, follow him on masonstoopsmusic or on his Instagram and Twitter accounts: @masonstoops.

Also love that he creates one of the gnarliest, most epic fuzz sounds I've ever heard in my life and caps it off with a super casual "cool". One of my favorite players by far

When he played reverb on the clean amp and trem on the Kalamazoo I thought to myself “Oh shoot, here’s his finisher. This is the best for last” and then I realized the video wasn’t even half way over. I need Swiss Things. Also, the Kalamazoo sounds awesome. Good work mason, good work EQD. You never cease to impress.

Props to EQD for producing something that was needed instead of (necessarily) wanted; good housekeeping, sometimes those less glamorous additions to the kit are what make it all work TOGETHER.Good alt to those big,creativity killing , switching systems/ parallel loopers.

This is great and may just be the ticket. I’ve got some humdingers of amps. I would like to bi-amp, then experience stereo with the some wet effects-delay, phase, or trem. This is the fun I’m looking for. All the classics without all the hassles.

This is a demo among demos. Really amazing sounds and playing and a very clear explanation of how it works. In looking at the circuit diagram on the Earthquaker web page, it looks like both loops go to both outputs, rather than loop A going to output A and loop B going to output B. Is that right?
@EarthQuakerDevices
@EarthQuakerDevices 5 жыл бұрын
Correct. The loops are in series, and everything inside Swiss Things follows a linear path to both outputs.

I dig your guitars and amps. Nice approach with the contrasting amps. Warm and enjoyable! Love EQD-! Have tons of pedals- doing some research into the swiss things - can you tell me if the loops are themselves stereo ? I noticed - You have your stereo effects running after the Swiss things and before the amps- For my stereo delays and reverbs I’m looking for a loop switcher that has stereo loops.
@EarthQuakerDevices
@EarthQuakerDevices Жыл бұрын
Sweet, thanks for your support! The Loops themselves are mono, however the technique Mason did here using both output A and B to send through a stereo chorus into 2 different amps is a cool workaround to incorporate stereo effects into your rig!

It's maddening that the loop buttons are backwards on the pedal. I can't think of any good reason for them to be positioned that way. Other than that - this thing is amazing!!

I mean absolutely amazing guitar player. Super interesting sounds & gorgeous music. And I mean the stereo output is cool, but how is this any better than another effects switcher unit? What does it really do that takes it apart from lets say the Disaster Area DPC5 or the Boss effects switcher?
