Hi there, travelling to Lucerne in early July, only staying in Lucerne and then taking a train to Milan. Am spending 4 days in Lucerne so would you recommend l only need a Tell Pass ?

@@joserommelborja1826 be careful focusing on the day save pass, it is only good if you are doing a lot in one day (more than the price of train travel). Also you need to understand that most mountains are not covered by that pass - it is for train/bus etc. not for mountains. So it makes sense for a long journey like the glacier express, but not for every day you are traveling. If you want to save money get a half fare card. www.swissrailways.com/en/buy-swiss-half-fare-card?affiliateId=402 this gives you 50% off most big mountains and all train /bus and cheaper day saver passes (when you need to use them)

Hi, I purchased the Swiss Half Fare Card for my husband and I for our visit to Switzerland in late July. This works best for our five day stay in Switzerland before we take the Viking Cruise. Question 1 - Where do I find the Customer ID on the e-ticket receipt? It only shows the order# and ticket id# on the E-ticket and there is no contact information for questions. #2 Do I need the customer ID number to make reservations and purchase tickets ahead of time? #3 Also, I am having trouble finding a websites to make reservations. Is there one you recommend? I've tried SBB, I can purchase tickets, but it does will not factor in my husband's half-fare cost. I could not figure out how to make reservations on that website. Please help?

Hi Jaqueline, you can't add your half fare to the mobile app. But you can choose half fare when choosing the route/ticket you want. And you just have to show it when the inspector comes. You don't need to buy tickets ahead either, you can just do it before you get on the train. This can be done on the app or website (although the website means you need to download or print the ticket which is more painful). Try doing one on the app with the half fare chosen.

@@SwitzerLanding I was not aware that I could wait to purchase the tickets. I've already purchased 2 tickets (point to point w/our half fare cards) We will also take the Bernina Express from Chur to Tirano for a couple of days, then Tirano to St. Moritz - so I made seat reservations for that and purchase tickets as well. We printed all the tickets. (I thought we would not be able to get a seat on the train if we did not purchase tickets in advance.) I guess I didn't understand this as well as I thought. I appreciate all of your videos and advice.

@@JacquelineRenteria-ik7dv Its complicated for sure. But train tickets in Switzerland you can just do on the day (I do mine 5 min before I board :>). Seat Reservations on Bernina - a must, tickets only when you board. But anyway, at least you are prepared!
