A few things to note: People don't understand that when the ticket is cheaper you get less things, so why would you hold it up to the same standard as say, Delta? Also, their pilot pay scale is actually very good, in some cases just a few dollars below legacy carrier /hour. You also can go down to 0 hours per month as a pilot if you want to go on vacation. Airlines like Delta do not allow this.

My experience with spirit was: They said the door had malfunctioned so they had to order new parts from Amazon, I got really confused.. so there was a 2 day delay and gave me a hotel near a cemetery, however the flight itself was pretty nice

What a Great Video! Also a little something real quick. Back in 2021, I was flying to Raleigh from Hartford on a Frontier A320Neo. The flight was really Terrible, but I'd say Spirit is probably better than Frontier. And the only reason that flight in 2021 was terrible was because the seats were probably as small as Spirit's but the legroom felt less than 28 inches tbf. But still, Great Video.

The main problems are that the planes are broken pretty often, and delays. I was heading to my flight on time, when they changed the time early last minute and no notification. I almost missed my flight. I was also supposed to arrive at 10pm, which is already late enough, and was delayed all the way to 2am lol. And the flight was only an hour long. From Vegas to SJC. Literally spent 20 minutes taxiing back and forth and not even lining up. We even tried to avoid the extra bag price by everyone packing everything into backpacks ehehehhehe

Atlanta is a great airport, but I wouldn't recommend staying at a hotel overnight or leaving the airport as security there sucks!

I've found Spirit's cabin service to be better than Ryanair or Easyjet, and their inflight product is about the same. What makes me unwilling to ever fly them again, however, is the class of people they attract. Spirit tends to attract passengers who are inconsiderate and disrespectful to other people and don't know how to behave in public. My last flight on Spirit had plenty of these types, and since then my nickname for Spirit Airlines is "Schvartze Airlines."

Was on a Spirit flight last night that was stuck on the tarmac for an hour getting to a gate. When we got off, the amount of insane shoving and pushing was absurd. One person literally hit me over a head while I was trying to get a bag and ended up taking someone else’s by accident because it was so chaotic… Plenty of people fly ULCC’s and aren’t complete assholes, but they tend to attract the most inconsiderate people from all creeds.

I flew spirit from Chicago to Fort Lauderdale with spirit. The worst experience of my life. Me and my mom and my siblings were waiting in the terminal for boarding. And someone comes up to my mom and says you need to shut your kids up. And she started to cry because she’s emotional. She tries to tell the spirit people and the front desk about the man who harassed her. But since she was crying hysterically. They thought she was having a mental meltdown. So we end up boarding the plane and a flight attendant comes up to us and says that our mom was mentally ill and was not safe to fly, which she was fine. And kicked me and my siblings and my mom off the plane. We ended up somehow affording a hotel and getting on the next flight that morning. That flight was much better. On our way back. Our mom was low on medicine that she takes for adhd and depression. And would only have enough to make it home before she would need a refill. When we were boarding. A spirit flight attendant said we need to talk to you. So my mom goes over and they talk to her about how they found beer in her purse. And I got nearly physical because I knew and they knew damn well that was never in there. And she tried to explain to them that she really never did have beer in her purse. And they said according to protocols if another passenger reports that another passenger is in possession of alcohol or drugs, They have to search you. (Have you know we were in the terminal and were pulled from the boarding line). We saw the boarding was nearly over and was going to shut the gate and we said please, we need to get on our flight home. But they wouldn’t let us leave and the flight ended up leaving without us. My mom quickly rounded us up and we went to spirit help center. And some nice man said I’m so sorry and that we will help you. He even gave her a hug. But we waited for 2 hours for him to come out of the back room where all the workers were. But he never came back out. We couldn’t afford a hotel. And since my mom was out of medicine. She gets extremely tired and easily aggravated and sometimes she will be awful to us when she’s out of medicine. Since we couldn’t afford a hotel. We were forced to sleep in the airport on extremely uncomfortable seats. I got so cold that I could barely sleep. I had to call my gramma to see if she could get me money for food. And luckily she could so I was able to eat. I ended up falling asleep and we got up at 5 and headed for the terminal. We got on the plane and this time. We got on uninterrupted. Midway through the flight though. I was reaching for my bag and somehow my finger caught on some lady’s hair and she got super pissed and went and told a flight attendant who was literally the perfect image of a Karen. (Blonde hair in her late 50s early 60s) who moved me next to my mom and told me that if I were to cause any other issues they would land the plane and have me arrested. I was 13 and had bad adhd so I got really upset and started to cry. I am now 15. When the flight attendant left. My mom pulled my hair and said “I swear to god if you f*cking cause another issue” with clenched teeth. Since she was out of medicine she was really aggravated. We ended up landing and we got off the plane and I headed straight with my dad (my parents are divorced) with his family to Savannah Georgia for our spring break trip on his side. I had nightmares for about a month and a half about having to sleep in airports. Im sorry to dump my whole story but would hate to have someone encounter my experience. Thanks a lot spirit. Try Jetstar, one time I was on a Jetstar A320 and the seat had no padding. It was just the metal skeleton and the leather, so for the entire flight I had a metal rod poking into my back.

That is a luxury jet compared to ryanair😂😂😂I've flown Ryanair (involuntarily) one time and I found McDonalds packaging on my plane, a lot of advertisement from other company and a lot of chewing gums under, or beneath my seat. Never again. I also had thoughts about the amount of fuel on board because we had to circle for about 30 - 45 mins over Dublin because a united 767 had an emergency.

When I flew spirit from Detroit to Orlando, they charged me $100 for my bag. And my mind was blown. And then they actually said “you should be happy because we could charge you $200.” Then they said “Pay and Fly, or leave.” So then when I got on the plane, the air conditioning was working but then, worst smell that I’ve ever felt in my entire life started coming out of it. Then at mid-flight the plane was shaking. And the landing was absolutely jam.

Honestly had a similar experience flying with Pegasus from Athens to Istanbul SAW. I was aware of the bad rep, but they were really accomodating, my mum had a british passport which brought up an error in the system but they helped us get past it. Free wifi on the plane and only a half-hour delay. Only real complaint was the landing was rough enough to make your teeth fall out but, on balance, a much better experience than anticipated

I’ve had good experiences with Spirit. Flew CMH -> LGA round trip to visit family, then they did the same soon after, and it was all great! The legroom really isn’t that bad, and the seats are comfortable, and the blueberry muffin is amazing. I love the laid back culture of Spirit, the flight attendants always are professional whilst still having a little bit of fun! I wouldn’t fly them for a flight more than 2 hours though. Also about the plane’s vaping feature, I noticed that on my flights as well, not sure what that’s all about. Captain was nice on my flight and let me see the flight deck on the way out! As you said I wouldn’t fly with them if I were checking any bags however, because at that point you’ll be paying more, I’d choose American then. People think spirit is awful, but United is FAR FAR worse.

Spirit is pretty fine. I never check a bag, even for a month trip when I go back from Reno to Vegas at a few college breaks, so I don’t have the extra price there. If I need to go far with a lot of people and usually some bags (mostly school trips and family stuff, then it’s southwest. Spirit uses airbus, similar to alligient, which do not have my favorite seats ever. That’s why my current favorite plane to fly in was the southwest max 8 from Texas to New York. It even beat out the Delta 767, probably because it was 30 years old and loud.

My experiences with Spirit have been pretty good. Other than having severe turbulence on final approach once (on the same flight the pilots did a butter landing) and having a bit overpriced food, its a pretty good airline. I don't know why people hate them.

BAHAHAHA, the one time I flew Spirit, I booked a DIRECT flight to Myrtle Beach, then they changed us to a flight into Fort Lauderdale. then to Myrtle Beach, our flight was delayed in Detroit for half an hour, keep in mind we only had a 45 min layover. So we land in Fort Lauderdale, then sit on the tarmac waiting for another spirit plane to push back from the gate. We only had 2 and a half mins left to spare, we ran across the entire airport to get there, we get there and see the plane (Still connected to the gate) I tell them why I'm late, with another 30 people behind me from my flight. They tell all of us we can't get on board. We go to there service desk and ask for a different Flight, we obviously expect them to get us on some sort of flight, since we had originally booked a DIRECT flight. They tell us times, but they say we would have to pay extra for another flight. were not gonna go pay 500 dollars each for a last minute flight. So we get a rental car and get a hotel in Georgia at 11 P.M. We finally get to Myrtle Beach for my baseball tournament. We contact Spirit asking them for a refund on the flight, pay for our hotel and our rental car, since we would have never needed any of those if they just kept us on our original DIRECT flight. But of course greedy Spirit only pays for our rental car. They did give us a one way free plane ticket, but i declined, saying I never want to interact with your POS company again, also told them that I would only be flying American or Delta like most people, and tell them they're doomed if they don't get it together. Also told the customer service lady I feel bad she has to deal with all the angry people. But the part I find even funnier is that my bags ended up on the plane that went to Myrtle Beach, But I couldn't get on that plane. Sorry for ranting on, just showing everybody how bad this cheap pos airline is. But it gets even better because I couldn't fly back and had to drive a rental back to Michigan because of a tropical storm.
