I do love all the oddball tools you find. I do own one or two of them. Always great fun tuning in.

@mattyvlietstra5017 Ebay. There are several left in sets.

They just need to remove the multitool parts, and make the pliers available on their own. Those pliers (with regular, but compact handles) would pair well with a swiss army knife.

That plier head looks absolutely solid

This would be great if the handle extended a little bit more beyond the body of the tool to allow for extra grip. Spring loaded is a must for something like this. Otherwise it just seems difficult to use.

I think they should use Sog Micro Toolclip as reference for this tool.

I just took my Micro Toolclip out of my EDC drawer to look at as I haven't carried it for a while now, mine is the most recent iteration (3rd Gen). I like the design of it and the plier head...but the internal tools are mediocre to useless (the file) and the location of the Phillips driver on it makes it very uncomfortable and impractical to use, which is the reason I rarely if ever carry it nowadays. But I think it should be the other way around, SOG should remake the Micro Toolclip and ditch the inner tools, all of them if neccessary, and either incorporate a fold-out 1/4 in bit driver, or storage for 1/4 in bits with the driver in the end of the handle like on this Swiss Tech. In fact looking at mine it would be possible to have a folding out bit driver like the one on the Gerber Armbar, with the bits stored flat under that; it would be a bit bulkier but then the tool would fill the hand a bit better when using the pliers. In fact I have some bike tool which is just a fold out 1/4 in holder like on the Armbar with bit storage inside an alumimium handle, now I'm seriously looking into doing that mod. That would be good to carry with a SAK with scissors, or a folder like my Spyderco Urban, Manly Wasp etc (limited to slipjoints for EDC as I'm in the UK).

@simonh6371 Sounds like a very cool mod!

A solid no for me Mr. Kincaid. The plier head is the highlight of the tool. The bit driver is nice but the tool itself is a gimmick.

They also made an adjustable wrench that has the same blades and bit driver. I got a similar impression that it was built to low standards. Some of their tools definitely better than others 😂

There are multi-tools with nippers (side cutters) ?
@hvacbudget860013 күн бұрын
Sheffield makes a super cheap version. The Gerber evolution had a cable cutter plier head and Sog had a rare sidecutter that never went into full production.

very interesting gadget! Beefy pliers and inline 1/4 hex driver! But those blades look like they came from crappy multitool from 20 years ago.
