3:20 well a creator pointed out nin10do I think is the name, but it has been pointed out that there is 24 spots on the track instead of 12 which could me 24 racers at once which could also be why the graphics aren't ground breaking but it also sound like some fun chaos- but probably the seed is the main gimmick they wanted people to know about at least in the sense that what you can see better since the 24 spots is a movement shot and only vislbe for a spit second so ever they just have it has 2nd thing that they didn't seem to think mattered or maybe if you want to be downfull then it could just be a random detail they put in that track for no reason

what. theres literally gameplay already? and for what would be better, basically just better performance, then just more detail in the models and art, and probably a stronger stylistic direction, meaning cooler locations and beautiful atmospheric effects (fog and stuff far away, and lighting), and then finally improved animation, making way more of them expressive and fun! just like Mario wonder.

If wonder effects are the main gimmick on top of 24 racers, then I absolutely expect that to be where all the power is going. The graphics are a decent upgrade but if most of the power is going towards a ton of drivers on top of sweeping track-wide alterations, then that’s pretty commendable too.

I mean, how much "better" could they make Mario style graphics look? Nintendo's trademark art style kind of plateaued on the Wii U and the only direction they could go from there would be hyper-realism, like Smash Brawl cranked up to a million, which would be grossly inappropriate for a Mario game of any sort. There wasn't a graphical leap between Wii U and Switch and now there isn't one between Switch and Switch 2. Third-party games will probably look better, but first-party Nintendo stuff kind of hit it's graphical limit in like 2012 and its a bit silly to expect it to change much from that.

Good thing they "tested the waters" on the Wii U with the DLC MK8 tracks, and F-Zero 99 on the Switch, so obviously they're gonna release a minigame on Nintendo Land 2 to test them some more, can never be too sure after all!

Their excuse for no new F-Zero is that they can't think of a gimmick to tie to it. In my opinion, the real reason we haven't seen a new F-Zero since GX is that GX was a joint effort with Amusement Vision, and Ninty just hasn't had the talent to top that. Starfox is in a similar boat, sadly, where they can't release a new one without a gimmick to show off. The first one showed off the Super-FX chip, 64 showed off the power of the N64, Adventures showed off Nintendo's ability to screw over Rare, Assault showed off the Gamecube's parity with arcade machines, Command showed off Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and touch controls, and Zero showed off the Gamepad and Nintendo's stagnation.

@@petergriscom3431 I guess this wouldn't fix the stagnation issue, but i think both series haven't been used for so long that releasing a game for both without a gameplay gimmick could work. For StarFox just making a game that controls good and isn't just another 64 remake and thus a new story should be enough. For F-Zero, i think X is a good game on the series to follow off from. Not a remake, but a game that uses similar mechanics and has a bunch of new tracks. I guess i'm in the minority where not every new game in the series needs a new gimmick? It only needs new level themes, story and good gamepley to stand out.

While I would say that a new Mario Kart is pretty neat, given how long Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U came out, I wonder if there would potentially be more series reps that will show up in this game. Mario Kart 8 has Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon representation in the game (include F-Zero, but it does lose out on no Captain Falcon), so what does it mean for Mario Kart 9? Hypothetically, I would like to see more side series reps join in Mario Kart, I could really see E. Gadd and Ashley as playable characters, and while I don't think its possible, I would like to see R.O.B. make a comeback from Mario Kart DS. Who knows what would be on the roster?

I really am excited for this Mario Wonder direction that they are going with. The potential is infinite. The possibility of a Mario Party with Wonder mechanics or a Animal Crossing with Wonder references. So many money makers here. And yeah I love the designs of the karts to the characters. Mario and Luigi's karts instantly caught my attention. I love it when they have a more car-like look to them. I was ecstatic when the Mercedes Benz was introduced to Mario Kart 8 (thats my main kart). The game I want the most as a hardcore Star Fox fan is a new Star Fox game.

Honestly even with everything we already knew i was excited just seeing the announcement show up on twitter this morning. Im looking forward to seeing what else is coming for this thing (sucks that we have to wait till april but then again whats stopping someone else from putting a trailer out before then) but MK9 i can’t wait to grab. I held off for WAY too long on MK8 Deluxe because i already had it on Wii U and hoped we would see a whole new one on Switch but that clearly wasnt happening with the numbers 8 Deluxe was pulling. A New 3D Mario would be nice to see as well, Odyssey is pushing 8 by this point so we are well overdue for one. Can't wait for it personally, I really hope they did something about the joycons build quality though, the second I saw those stick caps i got scared. I dont wanna replace those 20 times again.
