My only concern with the new joy cons and the way they connect is the connector pin. I feel like that is a really bad weak spot and even if you’re super careful, over time it’s probably gonna start to bend and eventually break off. And that’ll probably happen a lot faster if kids are taking them off and on since they aren’t always the most gentle 😂

And also, if you decide to quickly pick up the the switch by the controller, I doubt that the magnet will be strong enough to keep your switch from separating from the controller and falling on the floor and potentially breaking

Personally, I'd rather wait a couple years for the next Animal Crossing and have it be the best it can be than have it as a launch title and deal with whatever corners have to be cut to make the release date. Not that I minded the update system that New Horizons had, but even after all the updates, parts of the game still felt lacking.

The time before animal crossings used to be like 3-4 years (I think, I might be wrong that’s just what I’ve heard) and with new leaf and acnh it was 7 years, a lot more than normal. So yeah it might be a couple years, but there’s a chance it comes sooner than that

well the thing is, the gap was so big because the Wii U was the biggest flop in Nintendo's history so they decided to skip that console and make the new game on the Nintendo Switch (which they probably started to make around 2015-2016), the new AC game will probably be out by next year

I’m not a huge fan of the default coloring of the S2 buuuut it won’t take longer for cases/skins/etc to come out for it, maybe even different color combos. Past that I think it looks nice. I’m ready for a new Animal Crossing but in reality it will probably still be a while.

The switch came out in 2017, acnh came out in 2020. Pretty sure they would wait a couple years before releasing it, but at the same time due to the effect it had on the population during the pandemic, it could be released sooner among the more popular games for when the space out releases to keep gaining money.

@@volunteerworker yeah but the difference with the Switch and the Switch 2 was the uncertainty of the console's situation and the 3DS, Nintendo had its biggest flop ever (the Wii U) and decided to skip an Animal Crossing on that console and instead kept ACNL because of the 3DS's success, they probably started making ACNH around late 2015-2016 when the cycle of the Wii U was over and the Switch was to be announced so they had ~4 years to do ACNH (which is the normal time between the development of each Animal Crossing). Now with the success of ACNH (which was released almost 5 years ago) and the completion of Splatoon 3 in 2022 (they share the same development studio) they have had full focus on the next AC game for almost 3 years, so I'm pretty sure the next AC game will be coming out by 2026

I really am excited. Being vision impaired I love the idea of a bigger screen with better graphics and more ram etc. I love the idea of magnetic joy cons having perused the other items that use the same system. Not forgetting that this trailer was a computer rendering, so pretty much CGI, of the switch 2 and therefore some parts may look a bit thinner or thicker than the actual product, I do t think the docking system for the joy cons will break easily as it is self-contained within the joycon itself. Seeing as how much real cute and kawaii skins, stickers and cases are still available even for OG switch and switchlite, it won't take long for them to be on the market for the switch 2. As to AC I think they wait time is less than 7 years, as in between they have had spinoffs and expansions like Amino and HHD and such. The other indicator is that they have concluded the intense support of splatoon, and that hints at a intense focus either on a brand-new game or AC as a goof part of the team works on both solution and AC. Nintendo is very conscious of their fan base so I expect a new AC game sooner than later. Let us not forget that ACNH was delayed from original launch and then struggled through all the virus events and happenings.

ACNH was my driving factor to get the my original switch. But I do feel like I will hold off on the new console for now. I've also been feeling the ACNH burn out. I love how my island looks and I don't want to change it. But I have been playing Cozy Grove, and its been pretty fun. A new Animal Crossing game will come about a year after the console launch. The reason it took so long between New Leaf and New Horizons is that the Welcome Amiibo update was possibly going to be a Wii U game, but the...well, you know. So we are not far away from one, reveal maybe 6 to 8 months after launch on Switch 2.

The concept of a new animal crossing is exciting but I wish they would continue to update new horizons. If they come out with a new game then I feel like even more people are gonna abandon NH since it's kinda dying out. I would love an option to have different saves for multiple islands, more interaction options for villagers, more items, and quests/story options. All that said if they made a new game I would probably check it out but I just want to play NH without feeling bored/burned out.

is it confirmed it's magnetic for the joy cons? There's a little chip thing that inserts into the joycons in the video... I feel like that's a part that could easily be snapped if you aren't careful putting a joy con on, or drop the console.

To be fair, it does seem like a purposeful design flaw. Think about it. If the part of the switch snaps, you have to buy a whole new switch unless you play with the controllers separate from the screen. It would be a smart marketing plot for people to have to buy more consoles after the sales begin to decline. They would need something to fall back on. They have already raised prices of games to 3-6 times the cost they were compared to older systems. They already force you to pay a subscription to use the content and download content. They recently are making you buy new games in order to download icons for specific games now. It would only make sense for them to keep finding new ways to bleed their customers until they're dry. It's just what they do. #Greedtendo

I agree it seems that Nintendo waits 2-3 years after a new console releases to announce an Animal Crossing game. However Raven does bring up a good point which is that Animal Crossing is now such a huge title for Nintendo compared to previous releases prior to New Horizons. I think this is very exciting because we could possibly hear about a new Animal Crossing game a lot more sooner than expected! Especially with the development team wrapping up work on Splatoon 3

I looked at the switch 2 trailer earlier on my switch and the switch 2 looks really cool but I'm still sticking to my switch because it still works and I don't want two Nintendo switches. I won't get the new switch until my switch gets broken somehow. The joy cons look cool with the neon colors being reversed but I do want to see how the red and blue colors would look with different colored joy cons. I'm excited for the switch 2 even though I'm still deciding to not get it. I do want to see how Animal crossing will look like on the switch 2 I'm curious about that. I am still loving New Horizons! I haven’t even finished my forever island but I’m getting close! I am very patient with them taking their time with making a new Animal Crossing because I want it to be the best it can be. I heard the Switch 2 will be compatible with prior Switch games, so there is a chance they won’t make a new game, but based on their history and also New Horizons’ success, they likely will. New Horizons added a ton of new gameplay features that the series never had, and set the bar for literally “New Horizons” so there is a lot of potential for the series to evolve and be improved. I played nearly all the previous Animal Crossing games and I am still really nostalgic of New Leaf for 3DS. I am a little sad to think of New Horizons as becoming phased out and a new game taking the spotlight. My biggest curiosity recently has been about what it might be named and themed around? 🌱

I think that it’s really good that they’re releasing a new switch, obviously but I just hope that if they do release a new game for animal Crossing that they do it so that any switch can have it because I know a lot of people can’t afford to just buy a new switch of games like I think that they will obviously do that because like my special now money is quite tight with all the people so hopefully the Nintendo doesn’t do that some games are only available because I know PlayStation does that like you can get some games on a PS4 for example, but if you wanted to get them on your PS5, you couldn’t

New Leaf was my first animal crossing game and my prediction is that they release a very short announcement of animal crossing like they did for New horizon, and it will just say like 2026 or 2027 sometime between August and January. Then we’ll get an actual trailer sometime next year or early 2027 with the actual release date and more of a walk through of what the game will be like. BUT I could be completely wrong… but I literally cannot wait.. but also I can because I want it to completely outdo the others and I hope that they took in people’s notes about the last one..

I feel like you would absolutely love the new 'hello kitty island adventures' coming to switch January 31. You can pre order now, I did. I played it on my phone when it launched for apple arcade and it was phenomenal for a mobile game. I have high expectations for the switch version. I have the OLED switch and honestly the screen is bigger then that one. Its quite literally edge to edge. so I personally wont be purchasing. But man, I am with you on a new ACNH game . I'll even settle for a really dope expansion pack to like another world or city. oh side note , did you decide to paint the mother goose or not? 🥰
