I originally got the collector's edition for this game on PS4 but decided to buy the regular game for Nintendo Switch since there is no other portable version of the game released
First part is with Sonic and Tails as I collect all 7 chaos emeralds within the first 2 stages and try to get all of the gold coins from the blue sphere stages, I already had a few of those coins before I started this longplay so some of those stages are not shown in this longplay
The second part is with Knuckles as I go through the stages and collect the emeralds and skip the sphere stages since there is no point in doing them after I already did them all in the previous part
I do not do a Tails only run this time unlike my PS4 longplay of the same game because there are no level differences between it and Sonic and Tails, as for playing with Knuckles there are a couple of changes for example the act 2 boss in the Lava Reef Zone is completely different for Knuckles and Act 1 of Marage Saloon Zone is also completely different -

Sonic and Tails got sent back in time to the Green Hill Zone, huh? Didn't see that coming. I wonder if Knuckles called them there on some urgent business, and they suddenly got intercepted by those strange Badniks. Whatever they were after, they got what they came for. This might mean a few Egg Robo's rebelled against Robotnik and left his base without Robotnik knowing. I always knew one of his deadliest creations would Rebel against him. Most crazed madmen don't know when it's too late to control something that powerful... Best to leave that alone, unless the scientific creator meant it to help people, and be fully prepared to destroy it once it starts wanting to kill people.

Its nice to see some of the old school especially megadrive graphics back again its a welcome edition, they did the same with Street of rage 4 certain segments of the game brought you out on the original megadrive games and graphics and a lot of megadrive sounds where still used throughout the game just like sonic mania. The Megadrive is my all time favourite machine so it's great Sega are playing homage to it and also thinking about us old timer gamers or what were otherwise known as now "legacy fans"... you know we were the future one time 😁

It seems like Sega has put a lot of new ideas of Sonic from the mid-90's and put them in a "vault". Then because of politics between game company's and the wrong choices/marketing of Sega and downfall, those ideas from that time were reinvented in this game and (Sonic 4/mania) was "born "and getting a new fresh look while they where at it. Maybe all this was in fact ment for the Saturn 32bits machine what never was a big hit.... This really reminds me back when i had a Sega at that time, also the music ( especially in Studiopolis) goes back to that era. Great game and a good thoughness to play, not too easy :)

Finally a really good Sonic in good old age 2 D Obtick, the last good 3 D Sonic what I know true Sonic Atventure on Segas Last own console of the Dreamcast until today with my favorite consoles. In my collection and I already have a lot of games and consoles flying around at home. The last Sonic in 2 D next to Sonic Mania true Sonic 3 On the Megadrive, Sonic Caotix I did not find that good on the 32 X. The ed on with Sega CD is really cool in itself, as it really adds value to the Megadrive and some Implementations of certain games are very good. Keep up the good work so I find your video format, with the Letz Letzplays really cool.

This game is fun but something I really dislike about it is the lack of new zones you only have Studiopolis, Press Garden, Mirage Saloon, Titanic Monarch, and Egg Reverie, while all the other zones are reused from older sonic games that only made new zones rather then reuse them like in sonic 2 did you have Marble Zone? No, you had Aquatic Ruin, in Sonic CD, did you have Green Hill? No you had Palmtree Panic, in Sonic 3 did you have Mystic Cave? No you had Ice Cap if those games took Manias Route Ice Cap in Sonic 3 would’ve been a different version of Mystic Cave and same for the others

At least they added more complex or more level designs into the old ones & not having it exactly the same level designs as before even though there are quite at times it does look exactly the same as the old ones are. And they also added gimmicks into it with the old ones stages. Like how Stardust Speedway Act 1 adds Marble Garden gimmick or how Chemical Plant Act 2 add bouncy liquid. But yeah. Still an fantastic game.
