The game's narrative begins with an evil entity, Galeem, initiating a single attack that strikes nearly all of the fighter characters, turning them into Spirits; only Kirby, due to his Warp Star, evades this attack. The player, as Kirby, must explore the world by traversing a virtual game board to rescue captured fighters and Spirits by completing marked challenges, and in some cases, making decisions about which route to take on this board. The player can use regained allies and Spirits to help overcome certain challenges on the map and eventually defeat Galeem. -

And this is why World of Light sucks so fucking much compared to Subspace Emissary. WHY DOES IT NEEDS TO BE AROUND 8 HOURS LONG!? IT'S HORRIBLE PADDING! EASILY THE WORST ADVENTURE MODE EVER MADE IN SMASH HISTORY! ALONGSIDE THAT HORRIBIFUCKUS CHARACTER UNLOCKING METHOD IF IT WASN'T FOR THE STARTING NUMBER OF CHARACTERS BEING A MEASLY 8 WHEN STARTING THE GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME AND THE CPU OF THE CHALLENGER BEING SO FUCKING CHEAP AS IT WAS NOTORIOUS FOR, THIS GAME HAS WITHOUT THE DOUBT THE WORST PADDING AND THE WORST FIRST IMPRESSION EVER EXISTED IN GAMING HISTORY! ALL BECAUSE OF SAKARAI'S OVERAMBITIOUS YET POORLY EXECUTED IDEAS THAT GIVE PLAYERS A MISERABLE FRUSTRATING TIME! IF ONLY THOSE 2 FAULTS SHOULD'VE NEVER EXISTED JUST TO KEEP COIN SMASH, KEEP SMASH RUN OF SMASH 4 3DS, AND BRING BACK PAST STAGES THAT WAS CLEARLY MISSING IN THIS GAME(Pokefloats, Rainbow Road, & Pac-Maze being the 3 biggest example of missing stages), IT WOULD'VE MAKE MORE SENSE SINCE THE SWITCH WAS A HOME/HANDHELD HYBRID CONSOLE! BUT ALAS, IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE THUS THIS GAME DOES NOT FEEL ULTIMATE AT ALL EXCEPT MULTIPLAYER! Do yourself a favor! Don't ever, EVER delete your Smash Ultimate Save Data WHATSOEVER! "Marss" once deleted the save data before thus he have to unlock all characters all fucking over again without help. IT'S THAT BAD! If you want to protect your precious Smash Ultimate data, move other game save data to other Switch consoles(Specifically Switch Lite) just for outside purposes. It's a shame that those 2 faults alongside NO OFFICIAL GAMECUBE-STYLED JOY CONS has made Smash Ultimate stuck at home and not outside. Smash 4 3DS once tried to be handheld and it also failed if it wasn't for the lack of Gamecube Controller support. It would seems that Smash Bros series was never meant to be played on a handheld.
