i work at the via toronto maintenance centre and in the late 1980s we used to have 2 other yard switchers which were i believe ex sante fe motive power . they were numbered 201 and 203

8558 was acquired by VIA because a CP F-unit was wrecked before it could be transferred to VIA.

On engines of Go Transit when you talk about the f59ph it's also noted that some of GO Transit's F59PHs went to Texas Trinity Railway Express between Fort Worth and Dallas along with some of their standard Bombardier style bi-level coaches and cab control cars. I live 23 minutes from Fort Worth and I've been seen Trinity Railway Express trains in action for a long time now increasingly enough TRE does a good job of keeping their air horns well tuned. There is also a former GO TRANSIT F59PH least to Metrolink in California still wearing the green and white paint of GO TRANSIT

Nice little documentary you put together. Very well done! I actually do wonder what did happen to the 8558 though. Scrapped? Sold to another railway company? Rusting away somewhere in a museum or scrapyard?

VIA got 8558 from CP as the result of CP 1408 being wrecked before it could be transferred to VIA.

Actually "Of the six F9Bs remaining in 1979, 4476 was the only one no longer equipped with a steam generator. As a result, CP substituted steam-equipped RS10 8558 in its place when the F9B fleet was transferred to VIA Rail." - Josh Anderchek
