I have loved Switchfoot since my daughter was in high school. She is now 33 Yr old!! We followed them all over Texas from Corpus Christi to Houston, Austin in the freezing cold at Stubbs, to 6 flags in Dallas. Their music turned my faith back to God after a Sad Divorce. I'm sure you guys have heard this a million times but this was the album that made me a fan. My mom got me Learning to Breathe as a gift a few years prior but the opening riffs to "Meant to Live" just had me hooked and I wanted more. I think "Meant to Live" and "On Fire" are possibly my two favorite songs from the album and having seen you guys live twice I love singing along with "Gone"

The song Gone was literally a prophecy to me... i was trying to hold on to a flimsy relationship and that song literally played in my mind. I remember that album took forever to come out. I started going to the chatroom around LTB (around 2000. Indirectly met my wife through the SF chatroom too), and that turned into the discussion boards, which announced the album, followed by many announcements of delays. But definitely worth the wait.

Just pored over this beautiful album remake… I’m remembering where I was when I first heard these songs at 13 years old and hearing it now as a husband and father at 32…. 🥲 they mean even more to me now than they did then I think. The Beautiful Letdown is my favorite complete album of all time. Came out when I was in high school and it was the anthems for that time. Both for good and bad times. Our band played the songs everyday just because we enjoyed them so much. I've been to 10+ Switchfoot concerts. My father still has to this day the beginning of "On Fire" for his phone ring tone. So looking forward to this rerecord.

These were the fastest twenty years of my life. I remember buying the album and cranking it up in my car in the way home and thinking it was perfect from start to end. And all this years later still think is perfect and beautiful. Your music is the one I always introduce to non Christian friends that think Christian music is boring and unartistic, and always change their minds.

The Beautiful Letdown came out when I was going through an awkward phase of my life and I really connected with every song on that album. Some of those songs were the first songs I wanted to learn on guitar and I still listen to it today! Your guy's music has been so important in how I grew up. Keep on rocking it!
