I believe the $100 difference between Lite and OG is justified. Just to have the option of either docking and being able to detach the joycons is great. I've tried playing Mario Kart 8 with friends and family undocked. It's not a displeasing experience but having it on the TV is much better. My wife and I love Mario Party so the two joycons are a must. Sometimes when I'm sitting at a table I detach the joycons and have the Switch sitting on the table top, getting comfortable on my chair while I use a joycon in each hand. Even lying down, if you get lost in a game it's nice to be able to put the switch down, get yourself comfortable and still be able to play without tiring your hands. OLED is much prettier but what makes me want to save my money is that the processor is exactly the same as the OG. No performance upgrade what so ever. Ethernet port is capped so wifi can probably perform better. I would kill for that sweet new stand tho lol. Now, in terms of storage it is definitely a must to get a micro SD card. 1T tho? I would say only if you Have to buy every release and/or you Only buy digital. Some games are massive but most aren't. I personally got a 400GB Sandisk Ultra. I buy mostly physical, got a few games off the eShop and I still have 322GB left on the card. I don't buy many games since it is a pretty expensive hobby. So I only get ones that Really attract my attention. I got the 400GB as precaution, just in case for some reason I can't get something physical then I at least have a good amount of space to download it. If you're like me then I can even see a 256GB sd card working out for you. Like I said, I got the 400 as a precaution. And those are my 2 Cents on that lol, hope it helps someone out there.

I did the opposite, I bought the OLED first which I still love using but I'm afraid of dropping it if I keep bringing it out doors and only save it for family trips. Not to long ago, I bought the Draiga Pokemon edition Switch lite used for $200 since it's the only lite that looks good and I'm not afraid of touching the screen and use it for Mario Maker 2 the most. I only hate the battery life and I really don't mind the 5.5 inches. I had phones in the past that was 4.7 inches in 2013. My point is get the version your going to use the most.. so far only the battery life is what is making me want to go back to my OLED and just play it tabletop while the lite I have it by my bed and play small portions of SNES Online. SNES games won't kill the lite battery, only hard demanding games and the KZbin app.

I have the OLED and Lite, I can agree that the OLED is just unmatch. However, I have use my Lite so much that my OLED still can't replace it due to the solid body and because as a tour guide is my profession. I travel so heavy that I would say that the Lite is just perfect for me and my main games are solo games that the Lite actually far greater than the OLED due to the Tpad that it offer that the OLED as a handheld is still not my preferences. The key to answering this video is how heavy do you play on your hand on the go? If your some one that plays super heavy on the go on a moving vehicle, the Lite is unmatch and unrivalled at this point. The game may look better in OLED, I rather you just save that cash for the newer model that is maybe 2024 release that will rival it eventually. Because the solid body without accessory support is by far the best is the Lite and with accessory and complete whole feels on your hand is the Lite still unmatch due to it's weight and gaming buttons. This is just my opinion, since I'm very heavy on handheld and it fit perfectly that purpose. 😍😍😍

More storage, cool design, better battery life, etc. I'm not really a screen or graphics snob, so the better screen was nice but unneeded. However, I've noticed since we've been playing Scarlet/Violet that the old Switch will freeze sometimes & she'll have to turn the entire console completely off (which is a pain b/c the button is a bit messed up & there's no menu option for it - just sleep mode). However, I've had bo problems with freezing so far. Just the funny graphical bugs everyone else is getting, like the camera clipping through the ground. 100000%, get the OLED if you have the choice. It seemed like a curse and I had all but given up on the idea, I'll say I'm not a massive nintendo fan, but I can't deny those are the most prominent handhelds in my collection. It just so happened last year that I had enough of a stable income for nothing to throw me off. I ended up getting a practically new OLED and I really didn't see the difference at first. I thought I was remembering my previous switches wrong. I wasn't wrong, it was a completely different experience with the OLED, it makes a lot of difference to the quality of your gameplay and with the bigger screen, makes certain things far easier to see when used as a handheld - this was my biggest gripe with the original switch when the UI of some games was tiny AF.... and I have normal vision.

I do not see a need to pay $100 more only 2 years after buying this console which is in like new condition and has no flaws. The storage space is a non-issue for me. I have a $20 SD card in it and have more than enough room. Since we have 4 consoles in our home we tend to buy PHYSICAL copies so we can share the games between all 4 consoles. This means less storage space isn't a problem at all. Sure the OLED kickstand is nice and the screen, too. But for $100 more than what this one cost for that and that alone? No. I'll spend that $350 elsewhere... like maybe on a Phoenix (or maybe Moltres) tattoo next year.

Meh. I bought my OG Switch back in May and got it brand new for $180 from Mercari. I so rarely play it in handheld mode, that the screen doesn't bother me. At this point I'd rather hold out for the next Nintendo console (it's going on 6 years, I can't see it being a Switch Pro now...I think Nintendo will go with a Switch 2 at the very least (at the most something completely new), point is...you shouldn't be bothering with paying retail for it at this point...try finding deals for it regardless of which version you buy.

Agree.. Whole heartedly! 💜 I haven't played my og switch since the Splatoon version of the OLED came out.... I didn't have an OLED before because I wanted to wait for the pretty versions I knew they were going to give... But yeah.. I'm having the best time playing my OLED.. (PS... I love my scarlet and violet! 💜)

Personally I think a new system is on the horizon so if you haven't bought one by now maybe just save for the next version.

I’ve got the Nintendo switch and switch lite and I honestly prefer the lite. It’s just so comfy and compact and more portable and easier to hold

I picked up the lite due to price as well as having young nephews. I’m happy with it. The only thing I don’t like about it is that i have to play solo

I got the First Og switch when it came out 6 years ago and man my switch has not held up. My controllers are basically unusable and my switch box just randomly stopped working recently. Imma upgrade to the Switch OLED. If a new switch comes out, I’ll just give my OLED to my brother or friend.

I have a switch lite and I love it. I can play it anytime and I don't mind playing in handheld mode only. I can grab it and get at it, whenever I want.

My switch stays docked all the time and all my games are cartridges. So, OG Switch (V2, obviously, for the ocasional trip) without a question. I see no advantage of the OLED over the OG unless you are going portable (then why not a lite) and your library is mainly digital... but then again... there are SD cards.

Also, Switch OLED uses PWM. So if you play indoors at under 50% brightness it's not healthy for your eyes. Switch OLED is more suited for those who play outside on the go.

Zach, you are SO right! I have an OG Switch, an OLED Switch, and a Switch Light. I play all of them every day (because I have three ACNH islands, one on each Switch), and I still feel so much joy when picking up my OLED.

As someone who uses a series s, ps5 I think I’d never dock and the lite will be the one! I think they are a little expensive vs what the series s can do for similar price point

Why can’t they make a switch lite that connects to the t.v? I hate how big the original switch is. It’s uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. Come on Nintendo… think! 😅
@tc3man0 Жыл бұрын
Actually u can buy a HDMI to USBC on Amazon to connect your phone to your tv with no latency then put your switch lite on a stand turn your phone on download open camera so u can hide the side options and Bluetooth a controller and walla it's on your tv I've done it have a good one this is for the switch lite owner to get running on your tv

I think your confidence that Switch 2 games will come to Switch 1 is misplaced. That MIGHT happen, but its very unlikely. Nintendo is quoted multiple times saying they want their next hardware to do new things the Switch 1 can't do. They have ALWAYS had that philosophy, and yet again, they will make games exclusive to the new gen, as they always have done and probably always will.

At least Nintendo will continue to support the switch 2even after they release the switch 2.

I have no tv and just ordered the switch lite hyrule, as i have had no Switch yet. I was a Heavy player in my Teens but got rid of all devices and tv when i Started to work 😊 so, i‘m pretty happy that this Little and handy device still offers me some nostalgic and cozy Moments when i snuggle up at Home. Guess there will be a 3rd party: people without tv e.x. Students etc 🎉

2:05 ACTUALLY THE LITE HAS 2 MODES SWITCH OG: (2017 AND 2019) HANDHELD TABLETOP (GET BETTER STAND) TV DOCK (ONE MORE USB THAN OLED) SWITCH LITE: HANDHELD (BETTER FOR DPAD) TABLETOP (NO STAND BUT WORKS) SWTCH OLED: HANDHELD (BETTER FOR SCREEN) TABLETOP (BETTER STAND/SCREEN) TV DOCK (KINDA BETTER) ON THE OG YOU WILL NEED TO GET A BETTER STAND BECAUSE THAT ONE IS SO LITTLE AND FOR LITE IS LITERALLY THE SAME, IT DIDNT HAVE A STAND BUT IS NOT REALLY THAT GOOD EITHER (WITH THE OLED IS BETTER BUT I STILL THINK A BETTER STAND IS NEEDED) FOR HANDHELD THE BEST IS EITHER THE LITE FOR THE DPAD AND BECAUSE IS LIGHTER OR THE OLED FOR THE SCREEN AND FOR TV MODE THE OG HAS ONE MORE USB AND YOU CAN GET THE ADAPTER FOR THE ETHERNET WHILE WITH THE OLED YOU DONT GET TO CHOICE (I THINL IT WOULD BE BETTER TO GET THE ETHERNET PORT AND EVEN MORE USB PORTS BECAUSE YOU MAY NEED THEM IF PLAYING SMASH FOR 8 FOR EXAMPLE AND FOR THE LITE ON TABLETOP YOU NEED EXTRA JOYCONS OR A PRO BUT YOU WILL STILL NEED MORE FOR THE OTHER 2... SO IS ACTUALLY THE SAME (YOU MAY NOT NEED A PRO RIGHT AT THE START BECAUSE THE LITE IS THE ONLY THAT ALREADY CAME WITH THE DPAD) 2:44 ONLY LABO CANT BE PLAYED ON THE LITE AND TBH I THINK NO ONE SAYS "I WANT A SWITCH JUST TO PLAY LABO" (I DO WANT LABO BUT I WANT MORE OTHER GAMES LIKE ALL ZELDA, SPLATOON, POKEMON, BAYONETTA...)

i have a v1 since we bought it in 2017 and we still use it to this day every single day to play Mario kart after dinner, i been using it in handheld mode and tv mode to play mario 3d allstars and despite the oled having a much bigger screen (i seen it in person at target and gamestop) and MUCH better resolution, i believe in the "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" logic, sure id like to have an oled but we arent gonna actually go out of our way to replace our switch, we love our switch and ive actually been wanting to get a switch lite recently after holding one (also at target and gamestop) and finding out that i prefer handheld gameplay, handheld mode is more comfortable for me and playing mario galaxy in handheld mode proved to me that even tho the og switch screen is smaller, it still looks AMAZING in resolution, so ill be keeping my switch and hopefully get a switch lite in the future
@equation85912 жыл бұрын
I do not recommend the switch lite if your going to buy a switch spend a little bit extra so you can play on a tv.
