OZ could just be a place holder namr as NX was for the switch. I remrmber people would call the switch Nintendo NeXt Nintendo Nexus it was so many names people were coming up with for the switch and it wadbt even close to those names as the official name was revealed as Nintendo Switch. So im guessing OZ could be a plave holder til the actual name is revealed.

Switch Pro is how I would refer to a hypothetical more powerful model of the Switch that never ended up happening, NOT the successor. Switch Pro and Switch 2, as place-holder short-hands, ought to be distinct concepts. I don't think it would be a good idea for them to officially name the Switch 2 the Nintendo Switch Pro because of that, but also because calling it the Switch Pro would invoke that it's an non-essential upgrade for your average Switch owner, which was pretty much the exact problem they had with the Wii U coming from the Wii.

Nintendo have an immense challenge in needing to name it so that people know it's both a new system and something that they need to buy. I don't believe having "Wii" in the name of the "Wii U" sunk the system. A lot of the parents I knew of kids that casually played the Wii thought the Wii U (if they had heard of it at all) was a Wii accessory, and thus not a necessary purchase. I firmly believe that just calling the Wii U the "Wii 2" would have earned it $10-20mil more sales. So Switch 2 would be the easy move, but knowing Nintendo, they'll do something a little more funky. I just hope it still has "Switch" in the title so casual consumers know what it is.

The name of a console is essential in the success of a console. The reason the wii u failed is because people thought it was just an attachment of the wii. The ps vita was also a bad name, id argue that if they would've called it the psp 2 it would've been much more of a success.

It will not be Switch 2, but Switch Too 😜 Ok, serious answer: I am gonna say Nintendo Switch X. Why? Nr. 2 as a binary number is 10, which can be read as the number ten. Number ten in roman numerals is X. Since one of the biggest franchise (Mario Kart) also reaches number ten it makes sense to name their console after it. So Nintendo Switch X (pronounced as Nintendo Switch Ten).

Super Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Advance. The evidence that they might be bringing back the Super Famicom 4-colored ABXY buttons lead me to believe “SNS” might be the more likely. Watch them also sell Super Joy-Cons with the purple/lavender North American SNES color scheme to really cash in on nostalgia (I’ll buy them. I’m a sucker.) “Switch 2” is too Sony. Clear, but extremely boring, zero personality. I don’t know why people actually want that name. I think y’all are too spooked by “Wii U”. That was just a terrible name. SNES, GB Color, GB Advance, 3DS, etc. were all fine names that successfully iterated on previous names. Wii U is the exception, not the rule. (I just hope they don’t use the “New” name for anything ever again.)
