If we do get menu music, I think it'd be neat if there were multiple tracks to choose from. There'd be the basic one, but also tracks from other games like the Mario 64 file select, one of the menu themes from Smash, the character select from Mario Kart 8, and other themes that'd fit for a main menu

Well I missed out on that community post. I think it would be nice if it was a lot easier to live stream on the switch 2. PS4 and Xbox One have like built-in software that allows you to just live stream the games on twitch or KZbin or wherever without needing to buy external hardware and plug it into a computer to live stream it. It would be ideal if the switch 2 would have a program on there that allows you to easily live stream a game to KZbin and twitch and elsewhere. Especially since a lot of the time the console might be played in portable mode because maybe the TV isn't available for some reason or you're out and about and maybe not working while you're out away from home and would like to live stream.

I'd love it if they added achievements. I have a lot of fun trying to go for platinum trophies on Playstation and it motivates me to go for things I usually wouldn't do. It's the reason I ended up 100% the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy. I already like to 100% Mario, Kirby, Pikmin, and Sonic games, and having something on my profile showing it off would be nice. A lot of Nintendo fans seem to hate the idea for some reason. I remember asking on the Nintendo Switch subreddit what games they'd like to see get achievements, and so many were offended at idea of it. I remember someone replied saying that achievement hunters have never done anything worthwhile in their life and that getting achievements in games are the only things that bring meaning to their life. And dawg its not that serious, i just thought It'd be a nice addition.

I hope they add a Tomodachi Life sequel and not a port like they did with Miitopia. Sure, Miitopia did add a lot with the mask and wig systems alongside the horse, but outside of that there really wasn’t much additional content to the game. Things I want on Switch 2: -A new 3D Mario and a new Mario Kart, both in release year like what the 3DS had with both 3D Land and MK7 -A collection of every NSMB game remastered in full HD with some extra bonus features (just go with me on this one) -A new Mario Maker they actually bother to support for more than a year -Metroid Prime 4 is basically guaranteed cross Gen -Dedicated servers (I’m sick of P2P, especially as a Splatoon player) -We don’t get a new Splatoon for a year or two. I'm not convinced they'll ever do a GC add-on to NSO, as they're seeing how easy it is to remaster them & sell at full price. Also, I'm not convinced NSO will be very comprehensive & feature-complete at launch. It SHOULD be, but it's Nintendo & online stuff we're talking about. For whatever reason, we'll probably still be forced to use friend codes, have no communication functionality (still not even basic messaging, let alone voice chat), lacking media apps again, etc. I do think they'll offer backwards compatibility (thankfully). I'll be sad if they STILL don't offer an achievement/trophy system. I don't even seek them out in games, but I always prefer buying my multiplats anywhere else than Nintendo consoles because of them. I like being able to see my gameplay history, what I did in games I beat, the % of people who also did these things, etc. And I hope they bring back themes... it's low effort & would make fans happy, so the only excuse not to is sheer stubbornness.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. But I’m a Zelda guy, so I didn’t want to share a few games, but I think might get some sort of remake on switch 2, or will be added to switch online. I agree gamecube online will probably come, and will launch with wind waker. TP will come, but later. Also, based on the difference between twilight Princess and skyward sword’s original and HD releases, in 2027, we will get something like that for Breath of the Wild. Also, I think other switch online services will finally give us games for like four swords and four sword adventures. And if they add a DS online service, and an hourglass and spirit tracks will definitely come. But above all else, I ABSOLUTELY want OoT and MM HD. The versions on N64 online had less than adequate controls, so a remake could give them an opportunity to finally make things right. (Also, YES, WE WANT THE BAT!!!)

I want a Smash that has fewer characters because I want a completely new Smash. Made by someone else, with fresh ideas and completely different movesets and design philosophies. I just think Ultimate is the ultimate SAKURAI Smash, but the series can evolve in a different way. (also I want this because I want DK and Bowser to sound like they should sound and to get rid of Smash oddities like freakin' Jigglypuff, of all Pokémon, being a mainstay)

I agree on DK and Bowser, but I think you can keep those same movesets while making the way they look, sound and act feel more true to their actual characters. The only things I'd really change with DK is to give him a barrel as side-special (primarily to counteract zoning and potentially open punishes, don't make it too over-centralizing lest he'd become a zoner), then also give him a bury down-throw. You could also give Giant Punch a shieldbreak functionality to make up for the loss of Headbutt.

Switch is basically a redesigned and slightly more powerful Wii U. But one fun element of Wii U was not carried over to Switch; the ability to play on tv and in handheld at the same time. Those little handheld minigames and maps were useful and cool. I really hope Switch 2 (or whatever they end up calling it) will fix that problem.

Hear me out : A secondary screen While docked it works like the gamepad but with the joycons that are provided in with the console. While in portable mode it can conect to the switch's charging port and functions like a bigger DS. I dont know how you could close thet hing without an accessory provided with the "gamepad" or it would have a funny shape. Some games would have no real value with a double screen but those that worked realy well with it in the DS, 3DS and wiiU days could have a dualscreen mode with some funtionalities like an interactive map for splatoon or a menu thats active at all times for zelda or xenoblade games. And that would also make DS or even some wiiU games ports possible like kidicarus uprising without needing to make a lot of changes.

A New 2D Zelda feels more like it'll be the Holiday title to tie us over until next year, the same way Mario Wonder was last year. It's a nice midground of small enough that Nintendo wouldn't hold it until the Switch 2 but big enough that Nintendo could position it as the big holiday game for this year.

Personally, I can't see a new Pokemon game coming out when Switch 2 launches. That franchise typically has a track record of being behind when it comes to releasing new games on new consoles. For instance, LGPE came out a year after the Nintendo Switch came out in 2017. I reckon we'll see Legends Z-A on the Switch and then see a Gen 10 game on the Switch 2 in late 2025. As such, I'll probably get the Switch 2 when Gen 10 Pokemon comes out or we get something like Mario Kart 9 or Mario Maker 3. One of the three.

5:28: I'm leaning on two Pokemon games in 2025, Z-A at launch and Gen X as the holiday game, because 1. The Pokemon Company is freaking INSANE, 2. Legends is more interesting, but also kinda more niche, and 3. They already announced that Z-A is a simul-launch. Nintendo weaned themselves off much faster than Sony or Xbox in terms of cross-gen home platform releases, and I don't think that changes with Switch 2. Fall 2025 games are JUST Switch 2 games.

8:18 I don't know much on how Nintendo games work, but I never understand when developers make an entirely new installment in a game series instead of updating the game, like the DLC characters Smash released. Smash doesn't have a story, developers don't need to rewrite the same game unless there is a major overhaul to the mechanics/graphics or it continues the story from the previous installment.

i'm so glad that there's someone else out there who doesn't want the smash roster massacared! all of your points are the exact same ones i've been saying although another couple i think are relevant are that no matter what logic you use to half the roster you inevitably end up cutting more fan favourites than you keep and that apart from big third party characters and highly requested first party characters pretty much any other newcomers introduced after halving the roster will just end up being ones that definitely wouldve been cut if they were in ultimate making it feel more bitter about some characters not returning

There are SO many characters that could be easily added to a new Smash game just from mainline Nintendo games. Toad, Waluigi, Dry Bones, Kamek, King Boo, Daruk, Sidon, Waddle Dee, Dixie Kong, Funky Kong, Lanky Kong, Chunky Kong, and like MOST cool Pokémon would work great, like Arcanine, Gyarados, Dragonite, Koraidon/Miraidon, etc.

What I'm almost certain of : the joycons won't detach but be lodged into a permanently attached ergonomic slots (it would make sense with the "magnetic succion" leak). TOTK/BOTW HD wil be one of the biggest marketing point of the console (with side by side comparison - probably a free upgrade). Dual screen over wifi (one screen on tv over Wifi and one on the switch 2 - allowing ports of wii u and DS games). Metroid 4 as a launch title (duh). Link game (i.e. with zelda as the main character) taking place during Rauru's reign (within a year of the launch)

Honestly, while i do agree with your opinions on smash 6, i believe it would be highly improbable for the game to be that good since, if i remember correctly, sakurai retired or something, so i doubt they could find someone to make the next game better than the last.

I don't think they will add the prime trilogy to the game cube online because there are rumours of metroid prime 2 and 3 being remastered, but I am going to go insane if they don't release metroid prime 4 at least on the switch 2
