I’ve been Yngwie fan my entire life, tried the Strat many times over and couldn’t really get the feel, 30 years later I finally got brand new 2018 model, took me really a year on/off playing to get used to it, but I admit now I don’t play any of my guitars almost at all, I love everything about the Strat, best tone best pick ups, my high E was slipping off like crazy, but not anymore, I became much better player in every aspect playing Yngwie Strat, my only regret I should’ve done it at least 20 years ago.

Hope I become the same just got a new one..finally gave it a go….I’m only playing it on off 4 times a week had it about a month…getting better with it…but the High e I’ll do a run and try to roll the b e strings like a page run…and the e slips …ahhh.lol…but I do like it in a strange sense…I think with constantly playing and I’ve shelved my Les Paul’s a v…strats all in cases using this…I know I can do this with perseverance….🤙🏻🤙🏻😊

Hey that lick at 9:56-9:58 can you do a lesson on this and how you got so fluid? How you pick this. 10:54-11:00 please tell me that pattern lol Any advice would be much appreciated!

If a guitar player doesn't have a light touch to begin with...on the frets then, it will play sharp and out of tune. I have noticed this on players who really grip the strings hard. Now with that said you can put alot of pressure [emphasis] when you bend or add vibrato to notes. The scallops help make bending easier. A yjm strat also comes stock with 8 gauge strings... making it even more easier to play for lighter touch players. Some guitar players can play scalloped frets and some can't because it forces a player to work on economy of movement, both picking and fretting.

We agree, economy of motion and a light touch are essential to playing on a scalloped fretboard without pulling the notes sharp.

I agree with both of you..being a seasoned player many years..Yngwie never really impressed me his technique speed is technically awesome but repetitive too much …doesn’t touch the soul..like a peter green ..or Mike Bloomfield….even Eric from beano days..I actually purchased a Yngwie strat …on fence with it ..in my collection..I’m an older guy ..so I’ve aquired many guitars..The Yngwie is like a one trick pony …must play it distorted ..and you do slip..off the high e a lot …it’s more work in a way…nice looking …The Clapton strat even with vintage frets is very comfortable…keep up good work fellas🤙🏻🤙🏻

I see you finally mic up :). Sound so much better
@switchinggear60315 жыл бұрын
Yes, we are wearing Lav mics. In the past, we had room mics up in the corners, but we agree, the Lavs are the way to go!

are you playing with a mic'ed up amp?
@switchinggear60315 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike! Yes, we always used a mic'd up amp, but we switched to having it in the room with us, instead of in a separate room.

Nah, I'm an Yngwie guy. Lol seriously though, both sounded great.

I wish scalloped fretboard were more "normalized" they're great feeling, less strain on your hands, great for more than just yngwie runs.. chords are actually easier, and cleaner. never going back to regular fretboards.

Zakk Wylde has a brand of coffee and i would bet if you reached out to his people you may be able to get a small endorsement....????? great stuff!!!! keep it up.!.!. i would love to see you get a cloud guitar on the show. Prince qualifies for shredder i believe. never touched one would love to see what you all say if you can get your hands on one.
