This is so amazingly wonderful! I have genetic macular and have been receiving injections for a number of year. I received the first implant in SC and so very grateful to learn of the research being done. Thank you so very much for all of your hard work! Please keep it going!

Is it genetic or metabolic. Macular degeneration was unheard of in Japan until they started eating like Americans. High seed oil and carb intake. Now they are becoming sick as us. I started to have macular degeneration and reversed it for now with 10,000iu vitamin A. I guess I could wait for another mrna vax but I'll stick with vitamin A.

Greetings staut nice to hear your story. Please shed more lights on your situation if you don't mind helping a loved one. From my understanding Mecular generation is the appearareance of trusens on the macular which turn to affect the vision for instance blurs the vision etc it could be dry or wet however the dry one can go unoticed because symtoms might not be too strong. I was diagnosed some months ago with abnormal trusens in both eyes no liquid which had affected my vision(a bit blurry), I have since then reduced carbs drastically and also do intermediate fasting. I have heard vitamin A is very important for our vision including Lutein and Zenxanthin but Synthetic vitamin A is not healthy so I ordered cod liver oil supplement which is naturally rich in Vit A. Were you dianosed with trusens or what do you refer as macular degeneration what was seen in your eyes, 2ndly what type of vit A do you use? What were the defference since using it was this confirmed by your eye doctor? Thanks alot hoping to hear from you greetings from Germany.

@@beautifulafricatv8543 HI from Florida. I am 66 and started to have macular degeneration in my right eye in Feb this year. It was as if a lamp shade came down for a time in front of my eye. I also had a red line going across my eye to the cornea. I didn't see a doctor. I did my own research and found vitamin A is important. I started taking 25,000iu which is 7500mcg daily and it went away. I used info from Dr Ken Berry and Dr Eric Berg on KZbin. Then in September this year my left eye began the same thing. More research on eye nutrients and I added vitamin E 400iu daily, B1 500mg daily and B2 400mg 3x per week. The left eye reversed. I don't know if it will work for everyone but it did for me. I used nutricoast brand but I don't know anything about them. I spent a large part of my career in Germany in Bavaria. Hope this helps. Stay well.

I’ve been told I have a mutation in the prph2 gene, how can I find out more about new treatments? If not a cure, then slowing the progression down? Is that a part of BEST disease? I am located in the Southeastern US. Thanks

Hi, we are a UK based charity so would be unable to advise. But we would encourage you to get in touch with your local hospital or ophthalmologist. They should be able to give you details on the latest treatments available to you.
