I don't fully agree with the short pimples switch just for the reason that nobody taught you the right technique. I completely changed my BH technique in one week and now I'm BH dominant.

I wanted to test short pips out to see if it better suit my style per my friend's recommendation. So far I'm really liking it and have a lot more fun playing with it

When you do a forehand loop you should have your arm relaxed, close to your bottom. But you move it too much away from your body. This means you're tensing too much your arm too much.

Relaxing my arm before contact has been a WIP for me ever since I playing ping pong more seriously 1.5 years ago

Victas Spectol S1 1.6mm - my chopper friend Zhongjie recommended it to me. I'm not sure if it's short or medium pips 😂

@@musclepong My husband (the chopper also) uses medium pips on his bh. He's thinking about trying sp though. He's not decided on which type so it'd be interesting to see what he ends up with.

After watching the whole video, I haven't seen a single backhand punch. I saw many great backhand loops that went into the net because you weren't using an inverted rubber. Look at how Mima Ito plays her backhand. It's all forwards. A *punch*. You always use your wrist. When you throw punches you don't use your wrist. It's the same exact forward motion. But you have to stay low and squat, otherwise you can't hit the middle/low part of the ball. And also start the movement closer to your body, so you can load the spring. I don't think you have a SP technique. You can go back to inverted and apply the same techniques. It will make your backhand better. Look at Fan Zhendong in slow motion to understand what he's doing.

This was one of my first times using short pips, after playing with it for a few more days my technique has improved a lot more and my "feeling" is much better using it compared to inverted. Maybe I'll switch back to inverted in the future, but for now I'm really enjoying playing with short pips
