major differences that you clearly did not bother researching before doing this review: ios/android version- microtransactions, energy system that limits play chances, paid aesthetic costumizations that includes stat bonuses that essentially makes the game PAY TO WIN. switch version- no microtransactions no energy system aesthetic customizations are only visuals and does not include stat bonuses. the currency you use in the game can only be earned by playing and not by paying.

Got this game too,Yes it is a $20 port of a free mobile game but in my opinion is ths better version of the game.No energy system,no pay to win,& has an offline mode too.The mobile version need a constant internet connection and uses energy for compaign mission.:)

The wait for this review was well worth it. You absolutely crushed the review. The honesty backed with footage and reasoning made this a well thought out beat down as opposed to an uninformed hit piece. To answer the question I would love the Bioshock trilogy and out on limb I wouldn't mind seeing the Crysis trilogy on my Switch either.

Personally, I would love a Black Ops / Black Ops 2 port. Those along with MW3, were the last FPS's that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, even if they did one one those, there would be microtransactions crammed into them, so it wouldn't be the same. Shame that this game is garbage.

It's an ugly, blatant CoD-ripoff with hideous visuals and absolutely nothing original - and I'm playing the absolute sh*t out of it in multiplayer. Been wanting a multiplayer CoD-clone on Switch for ages and this will do just fine until we get something a little less awful. I'm staying away from the singleplayer campaign, because I feel I'm actively killing off brain cells whenever I fire it up. I think 20 bucks with all cash shop nonsense removed is fair, as I've seen much worse. Gear Club Unlimited was a $60 mobile port with horrible driving physics and bland, dated visuals, too.

Yes, it's a mobile game and it's certainly not a very good game by any stretch of the imagination. I'd much rather have a decent port of an actual CoD game on Switch. But at the end of the day, Modern Combat is the only TDM multiplayer military shooter on the platform and I'm enjoying it, warts and all. I can find multiplayer sessions in seconds at just about any time during the day or night, so I can't be the only one playing it, either. Again, it's not a very good game. But I'm also not hating on a mobile port for 20 bucks. There are much worse, massively overpriced mobile ports on the eShop, from the aforementioned Gear Club Unlimited, which launched with a 60 Dollar price tag about a year ago or the absolutely terrible Moorhuhn-Game, which costs over 30. I feel this is a problem with the eShop in general. We get ancient indie games for three times their Steam price, a bunch of shovelware mobile ports and a bunch of games, which are advertised with videos and screenshots showing something that clearly isn't the Switch version, because it doesn't look as nice on a storefront. It would be nice if Nintendo were a little more strict and applied some form of quality control, but that's a different topic altogether.

well to be fair: its a 2014 mobile game. at the time, the visuals and the fact mobile games could emulate the cinematics of call of duty was impressive, when it came to the modern combat series. i'll be it, this is one disappointing MC game, don't let this one represent the rest of the series. at least you can get the switch version as a full paid product, because the pay to win of the original mobile/pc versions REAAAAAALLY kill this game quick. if you want a good modern combat game, play modern combat 2, 3 or 4. especially 4, they are WAY better

Personally, I agree and disagree in this video. Worse is that your replies to some of the comments are pretty immature and you only seem to like the ones who sided with you. First of all, I want to point out that I’ve played a large amount of mobile games for many years. Modern Combat and Gangstar were my go to games in mobile. Modern Combat 5 was the game I liked until it got too heavy into the P2W part. I had begun to like it a lot less. Those who say that they had unlocked everything by just grinding are lying. You have to grind an unbelievably amount of tile to get the better weapons and cosmetics. Not to mention the damn energy system in Story, which will make you force to play the very unbalanced multiplayer in order to grind until your meter fills enough to gain more. Trust me, you will get very frustrated with the mobile/PC version of this game and be done with it quickly. The sheer amount of greed in this game is insane. Currency after currency. All of them are not necessary. The Switch version is $20. A little too steep, but it’s the best version cause none of the microtransactions are in this game and you can easily unlock better weapons. It feels more like the old Mosern Combat 3 and 4 games again, and I am happy for it. Now, I like you guys, but all of the misbehaving in the comments is just so not like you.

Love you guys, but this is very much focusing on all the negatives and quite a harsh review IMO. Taking out all the in app purchases of mobile, adding motion controls are both big pluses. Still, all about opinions! :) this must be one of your lowest reviewed games though?

That's exactly it, it's all about opinions at the end of the day. It's a 5 year old game that's free on mobile. Free. It might have micro transactions buy those are OPTIONAL. If you want the same experience on mobile as you have on switch for £20 then it would cost you a lot more i wager once you circumnavigate the energy system with payments and unlock weapons with payments. But it's moot, the perception is that it's "free" and that's all most people will see.

SwitchUp as for what's good, that's subjective of course. Personally I really like the campaign a lot. It's varied, fun and missions are nice short and snappy. Story is nonsense like you say, but not going for highbrow narrative in basically a shooting gallery. I think considering the price, it's surprisingly varied and decently put together in terms of what it throws at you!

I have to disagree on some aspects of your review Mark. First of all, the game is free on mobile but has microtransactions to get overpowered gear. On Switch the game costs 19,99 but no microtransactions and all gear are esthetic. You earn an edge over the competition by playing and leveling up weapons. About the online multiplayer, you need to get gud. I know it sounds cheap but you need to adjust to the game and not fire around like crazy. Visuals are not the best the switch can handle, but I’ve seen a lot worse. I know it’s not the COD we all would like to see on switch but the game works and actually is a lot of fun to play, even with it’s flaws. I would score this game a 6,5/10. I honestly believe you didn’t spend enough time with the game. Did you even play more than 2 hours?

The fact you didn't know the switch version has no micro transactions shows you didn't install and play the mobile version so you lacked a big part of your review. Because the mobile version is free doesn't make it better yet I'd happily pay £20 for no micro transactions.

If it was priced at $5 or $10 i would give it a shot but $20 for a game with these issues with no promise of update to patch or fix it i will wait till this game goes on sale next month lol We need a better multiplayer modern shooter than this for the switch.

I don't think it's worth it... Becuz it is free on mobile... Just play it with a controller and BOOM! Free Modern Combat 5. Maybe they could have made a better version which could be premium. Like a 2019 version, and not port a 2014-2015 version. If you read through this, cuss me for wasting your time. Because I don't have a life
