"Never stretching higher than the basic position". That is so true and good advice for the movement to the new ski.

Very interesting! The synchronized skiing was excellent. The ski technique used by each member of the team was, for lack of a better word, obsolete. The horizontal distance between the skis is excessive (hinders the crossover of the hips and upper body over the skis) and the extension of the legs from the old edges (uphill edges) to release in the transition results in skidded turns, particularly short radius turns. Obviously, they are not using PMTS movements. Disappointing! The CSIA is also fixated on old traditional ski school technique. As stated the Australian, Japanese, Korean and New Zealand demonstrators have got it right. Well done!

Bill Armatage I’m not sure you are fixated on this cross under movement that PMTS use. It stops you being able to influence the turn effectively. The Swiss (and other nations) are much better skiers than the kiwis, Koreans, Japanese and Australians.

@@alexjones3831 how does it stop one being able to 'influence the turn effectively'? About the Swiss being better skiers: that is your opinion, not a fact. Every system has a different outcome / skiing performance they are aiming for, in the end it's up to a skier to decide what fits best with them.

@S R - PMTS is not just an interpretation of WC skiing; it's a full blown teaching system including all teachings to get people that have never skied before to the expert skiing level or even ready for racing. What are 'good skiers connected to PMTS' in your opinion? There is helluvaskier, noobskier, maxskier, bill armatage, will wing pang and so on. All very good skiers with no background in racing. It's easy to call something 'dumb' and 'outdated' but then please specify what it is exactly what it makes you think that. About the result of using PMTS movements in your skiing; it might not be the style you prefer, but it sure does get a skier safe, smooth and efficiently down all types of terrain of the mountain. The movements taught in PMTS are seen in the best WC- and free skiers around the world. Now back to you.

@S R most think PMTS is no secret to them, but I bet my money on it that it still is for you. To truly understand the theoretic part of the system you're already months away. I've studied various national systems around the world (incl. Austrian, Italian, American, Canadian, Australian & New Zealand), but not a single one of them comes close to the extensiveness of PMTS (apart from the Japanese, however, the knowledge there is spread throughout many different individuals and ski schools, lacking a central authority). It's not just about the movements but also about didactic, alignment, movement analysis and so on. What do you consider to be 'the industry' by the way? About WC skiers that have not discussed PMTS; well, you clearly did not study PMTS at all. Start by reading Anyone Can Be An Expert Skier 1 and 2; and you'll understand why I said this. HH claiming that they are using his movements; wrong. Please cite where he said this. All I've heard him saying is that the worlds best WC skiers use the same movements as the ones being taught in the system. He even said that there are many great skiers that use these movements without even knowing about that PMTS exists.

Your sad misrepresentation of Swiss technique exposes your tainted confession of PMTS. originated from the same manuel "The New Way to Ski" as an alternative progression for athletic types and as a challenge for experienced skiers wishing to ski powder. quoting your source prevents your ego from exploding.
