A good way to cut the cost of visiting Switzerland is to stay across the border and travel in. Flixbus run cheap buses (€5-8 each way) from Germany, Italy and France to the major cities in Switzerland. You can also hire a car if you're going as part of a group or if you want to see the more remote areas. Just remember to have breakfast before you go and to fill your rucksack or car boot with picnic supplies for the day. Annecy, Freiburg and Milan are good places to use as base camps for this (and are great places to visit too).

i'm really confused if i should buy swiss travel pass, half fare pass, or just buy ticket by ticket. I'm staying for 2 weeks and gonna see all the highlights possible.

everybody says Switzerland is so expensive but I live in Amsterdam and did some price comparison and found out it's not that much more expensive compared to Amsterdam or any other capital in Europe. London is more expensive then Switzerland...

would you recommend interlaken (gimmewald etc) for the Alps in late May? or are hiking trails too snowy still?

I have been in that region several times in late May and it is an excellent time to go. Crowds are down and spring is in full bloom. Higher elevation trails will still be blocked by snow, but there will still be many lower elevation trails open.
