Thanks for this informative Video. I would like ask you a question? If you have a load 35 tons with 2 leg bridle and the height of lifting eyes are different how to calculation SWL. thanks
@probro103
@probro103 3 жыл бұрын
WLL is the maximum load can be lifted and on the other hand SWL will change according to the configuration of the equipment. Is that it ???
@InspHigher
@InspHigher 3 жыл бұрын
Yep...you're pretty much there Thejas. WLL is the maximum load (or stress) that the accessory is designed to withstand.

Kevin is it possible you could have a video explaining the safe use of a lifting spreader beam and at what angle can be used under the beam if any

Thanks for watching Steve. I'll certainly consider that in future. At the moment, that forms part of some of the Advanced AP training that I provide.

Great video Kevin. Quick question for you pal. Is there a follow up or extra training someone could undertake even if they have passed the a.p course. Thanks

How do you calculate the WLL for the container
@InspHigher

If it designed to be lifted while loaded (as most are), it is required to be marked with its maximum load. It will also be on the Declaration of Conformity, if compliant with European standards.

Thank you Kevin, a great, simple explanation. So the factor of safety is 7:1 for textiles, typically what is it for metal accessories?
@InspHigher
@InspHigher 3 жыл бұрын
Glad you like it Vernon. The FoS for metal accessories varies depending on the type of accessory, the properties of the material used (type of steel, heat treatment, etc.) and the standards they are designed in accordance with. Chain slings are typically 4:1 in UK
