The laundry where I take my large bedding items has new SQ machines. It was the first time I had seen prices change depending on what you select. They previously had one row of toploaders but all are front loaders now in different sizes. You can start theirs with a phone or credit card if you want, which I love.

One of the many overlooked things when using these was that a 12lb machine isn’t very efficient overall. Most were overloaded and the transmissions failed in relative short order. The recent trend in my neck of the woods has been replacing these by strictly using the front load models which also increased load size to 22lb capacities and lowered over all costs of operation and proved to be more reliable in commercial settings and customers could get more done and owners had significantly less down time. Since the introduction of the 2018’s this was one of the goals to achieve lowing costs to owners with less repair time from damages incurred by the above mentioned situations.

You will have to use heavy soil for it to happen.

These are INSANELY loud in real life. I used one at a hotel, it was 6 months old. You could hear it almost *HALF WAY DOWN THE HALLWAY.*

If you use the Heavy soil setting, it is supposed to do a deep rinse.

Jerome, do you know why they will sound different? 2018 machines will have an electric pump, we all know how beautiful of a sound that can be. You will also hear the click sound of the door locking. But you will be able to recognize it because it is the door lock from their front load washer. I know the drive train will be different but I do not know how it will be different. Hi Kirk, nice video. I would like to Know about the spin filling on the begining of the cycle. If Speed Queen drains when spins this first filling is drained too??

There is not enough spin to pump the water out in my opinion, possibly just enough to flush out the pump. In a commercial setting, you never know what the other guy in front you was washing. I really don't know the purpose. That did throw me for a loop though.

I've wondered that as well. One of two things, either its trying to check for balance, which doesn't make sense since its not an HE machine. The other thing I find odd is the instructions state to put soap in first, so is it pumping some soap out to prevent an oversudsing situation? Not really sure.

Could you also show how to start this machine with the service key as opposed to coins? Also you didn't by chance raise the water level did you? A laundromat here bought the B-micro model of these machines last year, and I tried them and it stopped filling about 3 inches below where this one did. Just wondered.

I did not know you could change that from the panel. This is the factory setting. There is a way of starting it without coins. The service door needs to be open, and something on the control panel needs to be initiated.

That would be great, then maybe you could start it with the key when you test out the next machine you get? I know on the old EDC (my favorite coin op model) you pressed Normal and Warm at the same time to start the cycle, then each press of cold would advance it thru the cycle to the next step. The Micro you pressed the Normal/Hot and Normal/Warm at the same time, followed by start to start a cycle. Not sure how to advance thru on that model tho.

The inlet water valve is the key. Commercial machines do not play by the same rules as the domestics. You can order the valve and see it helps you. What kind of washer do you have?

Yes, there will be knob version but basically it's a knob connected to a control board, Don't be fulled.

I don't think so. I will not know until sometime in January 2018. It will be similar to the current frontloader with knobs.
