Using renown wrong can cost you a lot of time in the early stages of Palia, because you want to boost your experience gain as much as possible early on so that you can level up your skills and unlock new tools and machines. If you make the mistake of wasting your early renown you'll need to grind for hours longer than other players just to catch up to their level. It's very important NOT to make this mistake as it can BRICK your early game experience.

In the 70% range, you get 1% per 100 renown. It slows WAY down, and I'm assuming it will give you even less per 100 the higher you go.

I am very new at this game. I love games like Zelda but don’t play because I’m TERRIBLE at maneuvering, fighting, etc and get killed a lot. I like the life-sim games but some of them are too repetitive like Animal Crossing. Dreamlight Valley is good but I’m so happy to find Palia. Not only is it free and a no-risk to try, it has something for everybody plus an interesting story line. I actually like that it is complicated, but not too hard to play. Your video was very helpful. What DDV taught me is getting lots of resources and money first is the way to go, cuz you can get to the point of having lots of money to decorate and expand houses later. Keep making videos…. Title them well and if people need to know the info they will watch. I’m going to subscribe. Palia has something for everybody and your video playlist can too.

Great video! Learning to spend renown correctly is extremely important for fast leveling.

before the updated mining xp trust me you would want faster xp. Also I am level 110 and currently working towards getting all of my stats to 50. Even with 100% renown bonus that is not happening anytime soon haha.@@Firise

I knew about the choices I had for renown and personally made the choice for house plots. I now have full open area and I just hit the part of the game where I make 40k a day and creating my mansion. I don’t regret it but I always have to carry a stack of food on me cause my focus is only 350. But I think I would have quit the game if I had to grind my house plots instead of being able to purchase it all in one go

this was actually very helpful and im thankfull that i just bought 2 writs since i don't really care much about a big house xd i just regret that i didn't know that the renown was gonna cap at 1000 so i don't know how much i "wasted" since i forgot to use it.. thanks a lot!

i get up to 75% focus boost, and 750 focus cap and then max my writs before going back, after the 75%/750 it goes up allot slower, also you get enough renown from achivements and gifts to be able to get all this done pretty quickly. not sure how important leveling skills are after level 10 anyway in the current build, you do get the skill currency but its just a trtickle compared to the weekly quests at that point.

I bought writs and now have all my land unlocked, which has no use. And after 3 days of gaming, most skills are at 8. Then I realized it doesn't go beyond 10. I'm not ready to hit endgame content within the first week. I love my focus low, I don't want to skill up that fast.

@@Sadarsa I'm 14 in mining now. But nothing happened after 10. All there is from now is collecting coins with weekly tasks. No gold needed for anything anymore, as I bought all the recipes. I hope more will come.

I think to expand the house a little bit is must because otherwise you won’t be able to level up your furniture skill. Imagine you have all of that furniture you made on one tiny lot.

According to the wiki maxing the Focus bar costs 4000 Renown and equally for maxing the Bonus%

I'm annoyed that it shows up every time I chat someone. I wish it wouldn't even show up as an option until I've reached level 4 with them. Thankfully it doesn't hurt anything if I do click on it by accident, because I'm still only on level 2-3 with all characters currently. But I think what's going to kill me is if I do reach level 4 with someone, but they're not the person I want to ask to be my shepp and I click it by accident. 🫠 Hoping this doesn't happen!

I don't get why you have the attitude in your videos that housing is worthless and only for "roleplayers" (as if being one is a bad thing when its not)...its...literally the point of palia. Homestead design is the end game of this type of game. Whats the point of all these min max videos if you're going to talk down to the community this game is actually for? I find your videos useful, but I find your views on the game perplexing because there is nothing to gain from palia by min maxing if you arent doing housing. You're just doing it to fill bars and see big numbers on the screen?

We were promised a long time ago that each decoration would "do" something. Like a hunting trophy would increase bow draw, or movement speed, or bow damage for example. Currently the decorations do not buff our character at all. The design of this game was to unite the timid gamers too afraid of being e-bullied and the MMORPG hardcore grinders to give them a world they could co-exist. My attitude towards gaming is there's not much of a point to play a game if you can't remember it in ten years. I don't remember how I decorated my houses in Harvest Moon back in the day. All I remember is which crop made the most cash, the best early game farms to get ahead, and which characters to romance to min-max time spent on the farm. Currently I have to play games and make videos or I don't get to exist. Unfortunately this games company copyright struck another youtuber so I have to make these videos as boring and vanilla as possible to not meet the same fate. People complain in this game they lack the gold to buy stuff. It's weird to me that they wouldn't bee-line the things that generate gold first and worry about cosmetic useless things later. (Why fill your house with black market decorations when you don't have 9 soil plots, 5 backpacks, and 30 machine licenses first?) At the end of the day the player that min-maxes will have more and better decorations faster than someone who doesn't prio the min-max play style.
