Palia Facts No One Tells You: Palium Spawning, XP Gain, and More!

These are just some of the answers to the most frequently asked questions I get as a long time Palia player, and partner. New and Experienced players are all flabberghasted when I tell them... and of course there's also some facts that are just super helpful when you first start playing! They're seen as 'unimportant' but are asked all the time!
Regarding Overflow Inventory, the idea is not to always run with overflow but to explain you don't have to worry and rush home if you see red. You have the ability to go for a bit longer before you'll be "forced" home 🤍 Your items when in overflow do not discard, they are simply sent to your home inventory. I did mutliple tests over hours of play, if you'd like to see my recordings I will happily do a video dedicated to inventory but please stop giving false information in the comments. It's also important to note, the game is in Beta so this can change in the blink of an eye! So don't let anything go in overflow you'd be super sad about losing.

Just remember you can only have up to 8 lockbox storage chests and up to 8 wooden / copper / iron storage chests in use at once. So when you go to make your copper chest use one of your existing chests as an ingredient, etc.

I think one thing that should be clarified to beginners with the Phoenix Shrine is that as your focus bonus increases, it will feel like it drains your focus bar faster. This is because what is actually happening is that having focus doesn’t make more XP, focus converts to XP at a 1-to1 ratio. And higher percentages mean your focus is converting to XP at a faster rate. That means if you aren’t constantly eating food to keep your meter from going empty, boosting your focus won’t actually give you more XP, because it doesn’t make a single piece of food give more XP, it affects how quickly the food’s bonus converts to XP.

This was so very helpful. I have been playing since closed Beta and still did not know that I could keep going even after my inventory was full. I have been hopping back home every time my backpack fills up. Yay, no more wasted time after I work my way back to Tamala's place and end up fully packed and have to leave.

eventually you will have your bag need to be rearranged, but you can definitely go for longer than you realize with some playing around.

waaaiiit, there's a higher chance to get the waterlogged chests when using worms and glow worms? I was told the opposite, just tried this and caught two chests using worms in the space of 5-10 mins, thank you!

The overflow row of your backpack gets sold automatically at 6 AM and 6 PM game time so it's not entirely true that you'll never lose anything the game lets you pick up.

I just tested this, and can confirm your inventory overflow does *not* sell at 6AM or PM! It may have possibly in the past, but you will not lose any items you do not choose to lose as of the current game version.

@@WitchyTQ Hmm, this is interesting. I've definitely had items lost from overflow within the past week. The Palia wiki doesn't specify a time though - it just says you have a "limited" amount of time before the items are lost From the Palia wiki: "Once all the inventory slots are taken, the inventory will turn red to indicate that no further slots are available. Should you pick up a new item still, the overflow warning will trigger and you have a limited time to choose what to discard and then move the overflow into the newly emptied slot."

Wish they had trading in Palia or that you can mail ithems to each other, I mean in final fantasy amd minecraft you can trade and give ithems so easy, would be nice if palia had it to.

On your first tip about levels not effecting gameplay, I have read and had other people tell me that gardening to 25 makes your gold star quality chance 100% even from normal quality seeds.

Hi this was a really nice vid! I think you might wanna mention that you need a whopping 80k for the extra housing layouts. The title thingy at the top when you press H. Because I was trying to unlock it and found out you needed to pay that much and cried.

I don't know what updates have changed things since you made this video, but everyone is not 100% equal in Palia. For the most part, yes. But levels DO matter when you're starting out. You'll find there are rocks and trees you can't do anything with until you've levelled up your tools to a certain point. ** I'm pretty sure they've also reduced the '30 minutes of inactivity kicks you out' to a shorter time frame. ** The Phoenix shrine (or something) must've glitched on me, because I had my XP bonus up to 53% and the next time I looked at it it had dropped back to 40% and I have to go re-spend renown to get it back up to 53% instead of being able to add to it. GRR. ** You have a very soothing voice, and I really appreciate how you don't rush through what you're saying.

Thank you for the compliment. I do mention that levels effect the tools and access, my point is that you can play just the same without worrying how high your level is; you'll get there over time. You can always file a support ticket in regards to the shrine glitch

I keep hearing that your garden doesn't grow if you log out, however I've watered my garden, logged out, log back in and I have stuff to harvest.

it grows one growth stage after a certain length of time offfline. sometimes that happens to be the harvest step. I've been trying to test further with longer lengths of being offline though! it'll be in a future video.

Maxed the Phoenix shrine before touching the dragon. It was pretty difficult to keep my focus bar filled bc of 100% exp bonus. After getting both Phoenix and Dragon maxed with some apple jam it's a lot better. With 1000 focus added with 100% bonus I can only harvest 3 apple trees before I need to eat again.

Love the game and loved your video! But I'm struggling with some bugs. I had problems in the Temple of Gales... I cooked my ancient cloud minnows by mistake; also, I've tried to float to the "final" island before finish one mission and now I can't open the final door. Anyway, I'm in contact with the support and they are very helpful! Besides that, it's a great game ❤️

I bought a front balcony for my house at city hall, but I have no idea how to apply it to my home on my lot. I play on Switch. Also I've had overflow twice on personal inventory and ended up deleting the item because I had no idea how to retrieve it, even after freeing up space.

It's in the same menu your house was when you placed it down, you build it the same way as a room. For moving your inventory try: hit the “+“ button, go into the inventory menu and then transfer things into empty slots AND/OR When A button doesn't work, leaving the menu/moving your character around seems to make it work.

The tip about inventory overflow is interesting. The game explicitly says in a tutorial that items can be lost if you go beyond the overflow limit, so to hear you say the opposite makes me wonder what the intended system is. Is it a glitch to lose items, or to not lose items?

Is our max storage 800 items or is it 400 per chest or what exactly? I've built two basic storage chests so far but they seem to be sharing the same storage as I can access all of my items from both chests and when I had only a single chest, I believe my max storage was 800 items and after building a second chest, it still seems to be 800 max items. I was expecting my max to increase to 1600 items but it seems like 800 items is the max we can hold. Is that indeed the case?

You can build a max of 8 chests, each chest will expand the storage. Then you need to upgrade each of the 8 chests using recipes from Tish's Furniture Store to gain more room in the 8 chests.

I've been playing since closed beta, and now I SO wish someone had told me that the trees and rocks on my plot do not respawn. The game pretty much coerced me into clear-cutting my plot and now I so wish I had all those little trees and bushes, and it's way harder than you imagine to "randomly" place new trees, and those trees you plant are all the same size... Total bummer, and something I hope they change soon... I'm sorely tempted to start a new account just to get back my OG plot. 😕

You say your levels dont matter, but I would disagree a bit. Your character level doesnt matter (so far as I know), but your skill levels do, *only* up until levels 9-10. Anything after 10 is neat for the medals, but not necessary. Those exquisite tools, I would aregue *are* necessary lol I mean, maybe you only need the fine tools, but the exquisite ones make it that much faster to do things Also, speaking of levels, holy cooking at 0:42 😮

Ah, see this is where I'd still argue you're half correct. Yes, in the grand scheme your levels don't matter.. after level 10. I'd argue that it's best to get the exquisite tools as fast as possible (using the Phoenix shrine ability) b/c it doesn't feel good if you can't hold your own, or help contribute. Nothing feels more like a bummer if you're at a flow grove, and can't chop half the trees b/c your axe isn't up to snuff. Get the exquisite tools so you can feel confident. But other than not being able to participate in certain activities at low levels, you're right, levels don't matter when it comes to comparison, and at level 10 and on, you're on the same footing as everyone else!
