It hit me hard when Madchild said "Four hours away, I could hear my city laughing" He always spoke about going back to Vancouver, but never had the nerve to before he got clean. Great beat, got that loss of innocence past the threshold feel...my impression of these underground hip hop at the turn of the century groups that we all had a universal ear for kinda of lost their focus. Became the machine they opposed groups got infiltrated and the open minded became one sided but this song describes that maybe redemption is in the cards for hip hop but the whole game needs to be changed.

Shed the light was supposed to be on dope sick and it featured Prev. there was a sampling issue so that song got replaced with wake up. i don't know if this is the shed the light song renamed, or if they essentially remade it completely because of the sampling issue.
