Serious question: Why did this music just go away? Alternative rock from the 90s to around mid 2000s was amazing, and it just seemingly died overnight. People would still listen to music like this now.

Great question. Every generation creating their own taste I guess. I agree. I grew up on heavy metal and alternative rock. They're like no other. I even just recently discovered Ramstein and The Hu, and I am over the moon! I have a feeling this genre will come back right around the bend. Hopefully sooner than later.

True and it's always so easy to date being that it dropped in the year 2000. I'm sure there's good music out there at the moment but it's become too easy to release content, saturation means a lot of bands slip through the cracks.

+creepyd444 It's interesting how those seemingly insignificant times in our life are the most nostalgic. Being so far from home, sometimes my most pleasant memories are the days at my old job riding in my beat up work truck listening to the radio with the cool summer breeze flowing through my hair.

James Bowser I'm not sure who you are talking to but I used to install putting greens for people's houses. For it I would drive across Kansas pretty often. Kansas doesn't have much so it really makes for some good times to think while driving. This was only a couple summers ago but so much has changed since than that I really enjoy looking back on simpler times.

Besides being a kick ass eternally cool song, an absolutely inspirational video! The aged hero, remembering his glory days, reduced to frailty by the passage of time, neglected, alone, living in poverty. He sees injustice and still has the heart of a hero, dons his uniform and goes after the bad guy. He’s accosted by young punks who beat him up, then ridiculed by another punk, but undeterred, continues doggedly towards the villain. His body doesn’t have the strength anymore, so he uses cunning and strategy to triumph over seemingly insurmountable odds. I’m not ashamed to admit that my eyes were glistening at the end of the video

I would have loved to have the 8 track in my 67 Malibu back in my hay day with the rest of my great music from back in the 60's and 70's. It would have fit in perfect. Love 3DD and will have to do a little research on them.

LYRICS: Well, I took a walk around the world To ease my troubled mind I left my body lying somewhere In the sands of time But I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon I feel there is nothing I can do I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon After all I knew it had to be something to do with you I really don't mind what happens now and then As long as you'll be my friend at the end If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman? If I'm alive and well, will you be there a-holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side With my superhuman might Kryptonite You called me strong, you called me weak, But still your secrets I will keep You took for granted all the times I never let you down You stumbled in and bumped your head, If not for me then you'd be dead I picked you up and put you back on solid ground If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman? If I'm alive and well, will you be there a-holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side With my superhuman might Kryptonite If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman? If I'm alive and well, will you be there holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side With my superhuman might Kryptonite If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman? If I'm alive and well, will you be there a-holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side With my superhuman might Kryptonite

Best songs, best rave and party nights, super great time to be alive and Canadians were proud of who they were, the list goes on and on. Sure, there were some bad things and struggles, but the energy from everyone was electric and f_cking fantastic. Miss that decade SOOO much.

If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might Kryptonite You called me strong, you called me weak But still your secrets, I will keep You took for granted all the times, I never let you down You stumbled in and bumped your head If not for me then you'd be dead I picked you up and put you back on solid ground If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman? If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might Kryptonite If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman? I can't help crying when I listen to this song or watch this video... Being a father and watching your kids grow, seeing how you were like a superhero for them and now they see you for what you really are, a flawed human..., trying to still be useful and failing, wondering if they will still love you when you are nothing but a burden... they are truly my kryptonite.

This was a special song between my dad and me. He died last year Sept. 2. The day before his funeral, I drove to the cemetery to see exactly where the service would be the next day. Now when I hear this song it reminds me of a friend of mine who I saved from suicide I felt like a complete dumbass because he stopped talking to me and never thanked me for saving his life and I was mad about it. A few weeks ago he thanked and said he was grateful that I saved him but he's doing drugs now he said it's to keep him from the blues hitting him and I remember he smoked too when I tried saving him and I did nothing, instead I only focused on his depression rather than focusing on both his depression and drug addiction. After he told me that he's become addicted to drugs I wanted to cry I feel selfish for being mad at him for the dumbest thing possible. It hurts me that he's struggling with drugs now. I would gladly save him again and as many times as I have to. I only wish to give him a hug and guide him to find the light and the right path. But he lives in a different state :( I can only talk to him and wish him the best that's all I can really do.

most of them committed suicide didnt they?

@nicksupreme2094 8 жыл бұрын
no, don't think any of those were suicides. Bowie and Lemmy died of cancer. Prince, Static, Weiland, Roberts all died of drug overdoses (I think) but I don't think any were intentional.

Still one of my favorite songs. I miss good music. Child of the 70s here, but I remember this late 90s time period because bands like 3 Doors Down and Matchbox Twenty put out some good music.
