Serious question: Why did this music just go away? Alternative rock from the 90s to around mid 2000s was amazing, and it just seemingly died overnight. People would still listen to music like this now.

Besides being a kick ass eternally cool song, an absolutely inspirational video! The aged hero, remembering his glory days, reduced to frailty by the passage of time, neglected, alone, living in poverty. He sees injustice and still has the heart of a hero, dons his uniform and goes after the bad guy. He’s accosted by young punks who beat him up, then ridiculed by another punk, but undeterred, continues doggedly towards the villain. His body doesn’t have the strength anymore, so he uses cunning and strategy to triumph over seemingly insurmountable odds. I’m not ashamed to admit that my eyes were glistening at the end of the video

If I'm alive and well, will you be there a-holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side With my superhuman might Kryptonite You called me strong, you called me weak, But still your secrets I will keep You took for granted all the times I never let you down You stumbled in and bumped your head, If not for me then you'd be dead I picked you up and put you back on solid ground If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman? Being a father and watching your kids grow, seeing how you were like a superhero for them and now they see you for what you really are, a flawed human..., trying to still be useful and failing, wondering if they will still love you when you are nothing but a burden... they are truly my kryptonite.
@kullen10413 жыл бұрын
Well everyone is flawed man, what matters is if you were still a good father to your kids despite everything and were there for them when they needed you, if that criteria is fulfilled, they'll love you no matter what.

This was a special song between my dad and me. He died last year Sept. 2. The day before his funeral, I drove to the cemetery to see exactly where the service would be the next day. (It’s a large military cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.) As I drove in, this song came on the radio, and it felt like him finding a way to reach out to me. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss him.

Lyrics: Well, I took a walk around the world to ease my troubled mind I left my body lying somewhere in the sands of time But I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon I feel there's nothing I can do, yeah I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon After all I knew, it had to be something to do with you I really don't mind what happens now and then As long as you'll be my friend at the end If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman? If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might Kryptonite You called me strong, you called me weak But still your secrets, I will keep You took for granted all the times, I never let you down You stumbled in and bumped your head If not for me then you'd be dead I picked you up and put you back on solid ground If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman? If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might Kryptonite If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman? If I'm alive and well, will you be there holding my hand? I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might Kryptonite, yeah If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman? Now when I hear this song it reminds me of a friend of mine who I saved from suicide I felt like a complete dumbass because he stopped talking to me and never thanked me for saving his life and I was mad about it. A few weeks ago he thanked and said he was grateful that I saved him but he's doing drugs now he said it's to keep him from the blues hitting him and I remember he smoked too when I tried saving him and I did nothing, instead I only focused on his depression rather than focusing on both his depression and drug addiction. After he told me that he's become addicted to drugs I wanted to cry I feel selfish for being mad at him for the dumbest thing possible. It hurts me that he's struggling with drugs now. I would gladly save him again and as many times as I have to. I only wish to give him a hug and guide him to find the light and the right path. But he lives in a different state :( I can only talk to him and wish him the best that's all I can really do.

I've been on depression and anxiety medications for over 20 years now and although it helps, it doesn't fix everything. And right now, I'm going through one of the lows.
