You and Carlos make a great team, I fish with my father and father in law and when landing a big fish we all scream at each other in a way that it sounds like we are fighting but at the end of the day we get the job done and have a great time , learn a lot from your videos.

Carlos has a lot of patience. I would cut the line and drive that guy back to the dock.

capt mike is there a difference between using a circle hook and j hook when watching the tip of the rod?

How would you air this
@blakew.57366 жыл бұрын
Had the same thing happen to me a couple years ago. First drop in 1400ft, hit bottom came up 100ft. Stopped it, glanced and immediately saw taps. At the time I wasn't sure what I saw but then the rod immediately bent over and then went slack. The sword then swam all the way to the surface and never even saw the rod bend!

Hey Mike and Carlos, im looking at buying an Avet sx for inshore fishing and maybe some small dolphin. When I looked at how much drag it puts out I was curious because it only puts out 14lbs. Is that enought drag?

Lil baby got stuck so u could make a show, an who is the captain on this thing? Hopefully Carlos doesn’t have to have mr. I know it all back on the boat soon, if so just take him snapper fishing.
@peterk8146 жыл бұрын
You treat Carlos like shit after you fuck up on the harpoon multiple times. Just take it easy and have a good time. If you’re not good with a poon just use a flyer or straight gaff. Small fish like that it’s easier using a straight gaff
@FloridaSportFishing6 жыл бұрын
You are correct, no need for harpoon in that scenario. Sometime the heat of the moment gets the best of me. Thanks for watching and please stay in touch. - Capt Mike

Is it true that you fish swordfish on light drag because they have soft tissue in their mouth. I remember hearing about that somewhere, just wanted to know if it’s true
@MrGb4ever6 жыл бұрын
That`s true but it`s not uncommon these days to see fisherman lock down to 45 to 50 lbs of drag because these fish are more common to catch.
@FloridaSportFishing6 жыл бұрын
Yes, however with larger fish you have to put the heat to them so its a balance with each fish dictating proper fighting etiquette. - Capt Mike
