The team at Navy Wings rebuild the oldest surviving airworthy Fairey Swordfish in the world.
The W5856 first took flight on the 21st October 1941 (Trafalgar Day) and served for one year with the Royal Navy's Mediterranean Fleet. Although little is known about her role while in active service it is more than likely she carried out patrols over the straits at the North Front, Gibraltar.
The Navy Wings charity keeps historic aircraft in flying condition to act as a living museum for future generations to learn about the past of British aviation!
