We've gone so deep into dungeon synth that we're just circling back to medieval folk music. Not a bad thing though! This stuff is great!

Serious question: How does it sound like medieval folk music? I'm not well versed in music history, but it sounds like Modern classical to me. Some of the instruments are medieval or older, but some of them are Modern inventions, and the composition makes me think Modern Period classical music as well. As far as I'm aware, the dungeon synth genre doesn't take inspiration from medieval music in the first place.

It's nice to hear some melody return to the genre, reminds me of Fief. I think it's good when you can get both melodic music like this and the darker ambience from others, it's a good mix to fit a lot of vibes.

He just may. The fantasy is dark, my friend, and so are the lands we face. Through our pain and suffering, we shall see peace brought to our lands. By defeat of The Evil King, we shall set forth a new rule, just and led by the good people. We shall see that all of the peoples are truly united, human and those of the supernatural and fae. A new day for the kingdom shall arise, and we are those destined to see it set free in this time. Rise, Shield-Sibling! And come forth! We start our journey now in the outskirts of the kingdom, Syltraighn, as you and your party are just arriving into town. It is cold, the rain has left you all soaking wet, and your horses are very tired, as are you after two days travel from a group of campers. After asking, they told you that the nearest town would be the kingdom and gave you the directions. You all remember they also told you that the kingdom was under the rule of a cruel king and that these lands were patrolled, and you were lucky to have not been spotted outside the walls so far. You all arrive to the gate at late day before it has been closed. The guards there don't give you a second look as they wave their hands and let you through. You can tell they don't get paid enough to do this as you look at their bored expressions. You make your way into the city and ask for directions into the city's local tavern, and after a few mistakes and turn-arounds, you eventually find yourselves at a table in a small establishment. Let's introduce your characters.
