Its quite possible that Oda, for time reasons, will demostrate all (or most) of Roger's attacks through Shanks. Also, another way to interpret Kamusari is like you the opponent are departing this "world" via godly "influence".

Whenever this attack gets featured in the anime, it needs to have one of two vibes. The first one is mirroring when Rojer used Devine Departure against Oden. The second, is when Luffy punched Saint Charlos so hard that it probably cost the animation department three months of their budget.

Kamusari is probably specifically a one handed attack. So it might have just been a basic move for Roger. But shanks turned it into his own signature attack. Also, Roger and Shanks swing their swords in opposite directions for Kamusari. Prolly means nothing though.

I'm weird with attack names. I like super long convoluted names for simple attacks, and simple short names for complicated attacks. Like the attack name might be "super mind crush of the heavenly downward strike" and the attack itself would be simply hitting someone on top of the head with a stick.

Shanks meeting the Gorosei seems much less suspicious as time goes on. For one, the Gorosei's actions always seem to err on the side of caution. For two, Shanks does not seem to be an antagonistic force to the WG at all (until his decision to go after the One Piece. From what we can tell he didn't even look for poneglyphs). For three, he's quite possibly the strongest person alive. It just wouldn't be worth their time trying to fight him. The only real issue they could have with him is his protection of islands that could otherwise be paying heavenly tribute, which sure the WG take that seriously but not enough to start a war with the strongest guy on the planet already having infiltrated their home.

They're fine with Warlords just having their own place and just doing whatever they pleased. Don't think they'd care if it was Shanks doing it. They even let Rayleigh kinda wander as he pleases too. Cause it all boils down to not be worth losing a ton of resources just to take down someone who'll generally mind their own business. Specially to someone they can't enforce authority so easily.

Roger's sickness didn't effect his strength. Whitebeard became the strongest man way before Roger got sick and they would clash all the time. What we see in Oden's flashback was their LAST meeting and Whitebeard comments on how Roger didn't seem sick to him, that he was fighting normally. This ain't Itachi from Naruto lol

A few points: *Oden was strong enough to scar Kaido *Oden wasn't injured by Gol's attack, just thrown far away *Kidd was charging up the attack he used to push Big Mom into the magma hole with the full intention of destroying Shanks's fleet *Kaido got scared when he was told Big Mom was on her way to Wano *Shanks's attack severely injured Kidd All those points lead me to think Shanks's attack against Kidd was *significantly* stronger than Gol against Oden. Anyway, I think the next time we see this move used will be when Shanks encounters the Cross Guild. He'll attack Mihawk with it, Mihawk will deflect it towards Buggy, Buggy will split and avoid it and then rant at them both to watch what the Hell they're doing. Then, the three of them will have a funny moment of Shanks asking why did Mihawk join up with Buggy.

Didn’t Oden explicitly get a lot stronger over his journey? Presumably he’d be at his peak when he goes back to Wano. I’m not positive when he joins Roger relative to the length of his journey as a whole, but I think he still had a sizable amount of his trip left when he joined up with roger so it’d be a safe bet to guess that he still had a sizable amount of growing and improving left to do. So I’d say calling his clash there his peak wouldn’t really be fair. Especially since he seems so below white beard and roger that it makes Kaido’s top 5 of all time list feel a bit more sketchy.

I don't think Shanks was trying to kill Kid, he was aiming for the center of the Damned Punk's barrel, because it was the main problem facing his friends right at that moment, meaning both Kid and Killer were just collateral damage of the Kamusari's residual shock wave (explaining why Kid has no slashing wound to his chest like the one Zoro received from Mihawk).

Oden also never had a slash across his chest. The attack doesn't just bypass kids durability and defenses. Shanks went all in there attempting to put a quick end to kid in order to prevent his comrades from being injured. Shanks was serious there.

I think he got hit in the gut, based on how he was flying backwards. I know it’s not real life but if physics were involved his back from the point of his stomach was the thing flying back first compared to the rest of his body. It was the same when G4 Luffy took a Thunder Bagua to the stomach.

Actually in the manga it was stated that Oden was much stronger upon returning to Wano after his journey. When Oden got Kamusari'd he was probably around half as strong as when he fought Kaido because it was the halfway point in his jouney.

I think the reason why Roger was able to name such a basic attack and why it got so much respect was simply because Roger's Kamusari was on a different level than what others could perform. So a weak Kamusari is not actually a Kamusari, it needs to hit a certain threshold of power to be worthy of the name.

Noone has better attack/technique names than Minato , the longer the name the more epic the attack :D Although Kaido and Big mom´s combo attack was awesome. I really envy Japanese , you can kinda have different meanings in a seemingly small words. (Kaido big mom Attack was called Hakai, literaly destruction or something like that, but the translation is Conquest of the sea, very cool)

I think that Kamusari is something like "Divine slicer". I think it's close to Getsuga Tenshou, which means "Heaven piercer"

We have the regular pressure waves with sword swings, which we see Zoro use all the time and Mihawk during Marineford, I don't think there's a Basic Armament version as it just covers the blades with Armament but then there’s an Advanced Armament version which is guessed to be how Dorry and Brogy do the “Hakoku Sovereignty”. I think “Divine Departure” is the Advanced Conquerors' version, which is why the pressure wave is red/black. Same colour as the lightning from two Conqueror users clashing. If so then any Advanced Conquerors' users could use "Kamusari" if they're swordsmen. Zoro's one sword attack with Enma vs Kaido you could say is also Advanced Armament pressure wave, when/if Zoro learns to control his Conquerors, I can see him using a version of "Kamusari". Mihawk likely already has a version if he is a Conquerors user

So far, we usually see objects being imbued with haki. Guys like Zoro can't do that with some more intangible like wind pressure. I imagine Zoro's cannon attacks would be pretty insane if he can send out haki waves instead.
