When Vinny got "hot" he was literally the most potent offensive weapon in the NBA!

I could NOT BELIEVE the Pistons didn't re-sign Vinnie Johnson and then traded James Edwards to the Clippers for the 1991-92 season. I was looking forward to the Pistons coming back healthy after their 1990-91 season where they had injuries galore, then they lost to Chicago, so I was looking forward to the Pistons, seeing how they would respond to get REVENGE on the entire league and then I read that the Pistons waived Vinnie Johnson then traded James Edwards to the Clippers, and for who? For what? ...Later on I was reading about those transactions and come to find out, the Pistons could have kept Edwards/Johnson while still having Darrell Walker and Orlando Woolridge .... Can you imagine how DEEP the 1991-92 Pistons should have been? ... So when I saw that I was like, 'Okay, this is all set up for Chicago to win back-to-back....' then later on Laimbeer came out in the media saying that Jack McCloskey messed up the family atmosphere of the team by waiving Vinnie Johnson and trading James Edwards ... I still cannot believe it until I grew up and realized perhaps McCloskey just didn't have a choice ... even later in the 1991-92 season, they had a chance to re-sign Rick Mahorn but didn't. Amazing! .... This is why I always talk about how the league made things easier so Jordan could win and keep winning without any barriers. Who were his barriers, his friends? Ewing/Oakley, then Barkley and what, his competition is Cleveland in '92? Come on. Stop. The 'break-up' and dismantling of The Detroit Pistons after the 1990-91 season into the 1991-92 season is one of the biggest tragedies and systematic downfalls in the history of professional sports because they could have just kept that team together, gold older and kept winning and losing on their own merits while adding pieces. So they can get rid of Johnson/Edwards but sign Orlando Woolridge to a huge deal and not even address re-signing Mark Aguirre? Vinnie Johnson/Aguirre played the best in the 1991 ECF but cannot find new contracts? Amazing. At least they should have kept Tree Rollins? From 1989-1993, the Pistons lost the following guys: Rick Mahorn in '89; Vinnie Johnson/Edwards in '91 and Salley in '92. What's funny is heading into the 1992-93 season, the Pistons got rid of Salley but added Olden Polynice, Danny Young, and then later Alvin Robertson, which is exactly what the Pistons needed at guard but no John Salley.
