Since the D-rex will have 4 of arms (6 limbs in total), which is a feature of insects, so I think that the mosquito DNA from the amber got into the dino genes, messing up how it looked. Also, side note, imagine a dinosaur that's gimmick is consuming blood to lay her eggs (like female mosquitos)?

I really think the idea of ​​a mutated dinosaur is what JP is all about, different versions of dinosaurs, genetic manipulation, an experiment with nature gone wrong, I don't see anything wrong with the idea and I really liked it! If this creature is going to be in this movie, they have the right idea, not to make the villain a normal real dinosaur, but a creature that does not belong to nature and has a chaotic mind, since a mutated creature cannot be normal and can do "villainous" things. I trust Edwards, his MUTOS from Godzilla have the best creepy night scenes in the entire MonsterVerse, he knows how to thrill the audience with dark scenes and scary creatures. And it looks like the other dinosaurs will just be dinosaurs, maybe protecting their territory, their eggs, their babies.

Remember when Brooklynn and Sammy were watching videos on Dr Wu’s laptop and there were codenames in the background? Like there’s W-600, N-601, and A-055. So what if one of those is the D-Rex? Yes, that laptop doesn’t look like it was made in the 80s/90s, but he could’ve copied data of the creature from an older device onto the laptop. He probably used the D-Rex as one of the reference materials for the Scorpios Rex. Not exactly using its DNA, but figuring out how to unlock certain genetic codes to create such a creature.

I'm excited about the mutant dinosaur, because it makes sense to me. Dinosaurs have been artificially created and, especially the novel of JP The lost World, made clear that most babies did die (I think some eggs didn't even hatch). So, it makes total sense that one or more of these failed creations manages to hatch and survive ... But it's not "right".

Although the leak calls it the “D. Rex” I have given this “failed experiment” the Quadrex, a failed attempt to try and create a smaller tyrannosaurid using Tyrannosaurus DNA but it resulted in it having four arms, the front pair being smaller and the back two being longer

Edwards was called 2 weeks before filming, he has no responsibility for the content of the film but only for filming it. The responsibility lies entirely with Koepp, and in his TLW script there was a mutant, but removed by Spielberg

This mutant D-Rex must be reference to Crichton's novel on gene slicing and missing codes. Frog DNA was ultimately used as a final but before that it was a trial and error. Whatever the case, rumor has it that the Spinosaurus is going to fight it in the end and it supposedly the best showdown in the franchise. Knowing Gareth Edwards work, he'll do the Spino justice finally.

Agreed on the scorpius. I hated the idea of it, but loved it once it was depicted skulking around attacking everything. And yes this mutant could go so badly…but if they were to ditch the tone of the last trilogy and follow a darker, mysterious, horror tone and depict it like the Kothoga/Mbwun in The Relic…then it could be really good.

Has anyone ever thought that may be this mystery dinosaur just a normal existing species that developed a genetic mutation, during its development through its creation? Many modern animals have been born with genetic mutations on occasions like goats & ducks with extra legs, cats & cows with two faces, snakes, tortoises & sharks with two heads, an alligator with a tail shape like a fish’s tail & goats being born with one singular horn in the middle of their foreheads. My guess is that its a failed experiment between a allosaurus, a T-rex, a veloceraptor, and maybe a hadrosaurid. Basing this off of the 4 arms thing. Hadrosaurid (quadrupedal to bipedal trait), Allosaurus (head horns and skin tone), velociraptor (i would guess that there is a intilligence to this beast), T-rex (because they would HAVE to, and that it fits in with its body type) Also im basing this off of the image at 10:23.

I don’t like the hybrids or the idea of a mutant but I do like the idea of taking it back to basics and there being a predator hunting them on an unknown island and I think the only way to keep people interested is something like this as we have seen all of the big boys i.e spino, giga and t-Rex so you can’t really get much scarier or bigger. I think if they do it, keep it basic, no silly wwe fights at the end and keep the mutants screen time low or reveal at the end. I want a dinosaur film not doom or predator.

the big issue for me is the 4 arms, please let this be a mistake or a mislead, that feels like just a step too far for this (relatively) grounded franchise, plus, it just looks way too front-heavy/unbalanced as a result. Say what you may about the hybrid Dinosaurs, but at least they still had the appropriate amount of limbs and felt like animals that could plausibly exist, but vertebrate animals with 6 limbs just don't occur in nature at all (so far as I'm aware, at least), which is one of the reasons 4 limbed Dragons are some of my favourite types of Dragons to see, they just feel more plausible/realistic (so far as flying, fire-breathing reptiles that can be as big as whales can be considered 'realistic'). This isn't to say that I think a 6 limbed Dinosaur can't work anywhere, I'm just saying I don't think it works in this franchise. so in summary, please be 4 limbs or less

This mutant is just most likely a regular species which was born with a genetic defect, resulting is impaired cognitive abilities and most likely extra limbs. It goes in line with what the franchise has done before
