Its tough to open Gren up in this matchup because Aegis can consistently rising aerial to intercept Greninja, who always does and loves falling aerials, and does not have a true rising aerial option. Add that in with the Gren OOS game and its tough, but Lea played the edgeguarding game so well.

@@shobukawa4183 Greninja rising short hop back air doesn't connect on a single character in the game unfortunately. It covers jumps and is decently safe if you drift back, but can't punish anyone for hitting your shield.

@@shobukawa4183 Bair isn't an actual OOS option. Sure it has the frame data for it but it can only hit like Sephiroth and maybe a couple others from standing position, otherwise, like you said, its a hard read.

It’s super cool that this was such a close set, especially as Sparg0 usually does extremely well vs the Japanese players On a side note, always found it weird how the States tend to underestimate Gren imo. Europe and Japan have way higher opinions of the char and for good reason to me

There were several points in this set where Spargo missed the punish on Lea's jump recovery. He was doing it a lot and at kill percentage. Spargo got 2 of them throughout this set but a few more well-placed prominence revolts would have made this much shorter.

Good set. Great Greninja. Lackluster (not from the players but just how pyra/mythra works) that Greninja lost almost all his stocks at 120%+ to a safe, easily spaced Pyra tilt attack or aerial. Would’ve been interesting to see the Greninja go into poke mode with shurikens when the pyra swaps came out. No need to challenge those massive hit boxes (when it isn’t a guaranteed punish or safe option) when you can rack up free poke on a slow character like Prya until she is in kill percent for even a dash attack; would’ve “even-ed” up the stock threat. Also, I was hoping for a counter to come out on some of those Pyra aerials; I understand it can be challenging though given the spacing and timing the Pyra/Mythra player was utilizing.

Agreed on the counter. I was hoping to see it at least once, it's one of greninja's best counters (no pun intended) to quick sword characters. And the water shuriken usage was good but (even though I've obviously never played greninja [or any character] at a top level) I feel like he could have camped spargo out more to rack up percent (as much as I hate to admit that)

@@misterwiggles8771 Yeah, camping to rack up percent can sound lame but that’s part of the game/counterplay and can be skillful/cool when done at the right time. Prya performs a similar function by utilizing large hitboxes (her sword range) so you can’t touch her. Prya is a great defensive/shield type character to stop incoming aggression. However, she is not good at forcing aggression in neutral due to being slow and semi slow frame data. Would’ve been a perfect time for the greninja to stop being aggressive and start camping with shurikens and being evasive until an opening. Would’ve probably forced a swap back to mythra during neutral even at high percents.

@@かめ-t6y 弱点は弱点でも、その弱点の突かれやすさって言うのがあるんよね。 「体重が軽い」だったり「復帰が弱い」だったりって言う弱点は、ゲコとかの「ガーキャンが弱い」と違ってスマブラをやる上でプレイヤースキルで突かれない様に出来る弱点じゃないんよ。 だからそういうキャラには相応の強い所があって当然だよーって話、分かりにくくてごめん！ ホムヒカが強いってのは否定しないよ、強い所があまりにも強すぎるのは同感、でもSparg0もキャラの強さに抱っこにおんぶで勝った訳では無いって事だけは言いたい。 (そもそもホムヒカ出る前のクラウド単時代からmkleoにも勝ってるくらい海外の大会で上位常連の選手だったし)
