[SWTOR] Datacrons of Tatooine (Empire) - A Guide by Degren of Friends and Pals [HD]

A guide to the Datacrons / Holocrons of Tatooine, specifically for Empire players. Sorry Republic, we don't feel like going goody-two-shoes quite yet!
The Datacrons and their start locations in order of appearance:

+3 Aim - Galactic History 38: The Tyrant of Onderon
Ramp to downed ship: Cursor -283, 96 Player -282, 487
Above downed ship: Cursor -618, -96 Player -614, 517
Blue Matrix Shard - Galactic History 40: Czerka Discovers Kashyyyk
+3 Strength (Located together) - Galactic History 41: The Droid Rights Movement
Balloon start point: Cursor -2339, 9 Player -2341, 465
Sandcrawler: Cursor -2349, -741 Player -2347, 402
Bummer on the Jawa Balloon!
If at any point I say "Follow the path" I mean the brownish/yellowish path on your map/mini-map. I will not say "Follow the path" if there are actually confusing turns, etc, so don't fear! And if you still don't believe me, watch my minimap after I say it!
I understand the early planets in these guides are rough. The later ones are much cleaner (better edited, too),

Again, thanks for this one. Helps a lot to find this stuff. I got on the balloon and guess what.. it despawned about one minute away from the sandcrawler with the shard.

The damn balloon de-spawned on us today! we had about 15 of our Imp's up on top of that sand crawler waiting and then had to fend off a massive wave of 20+ Republic players all 39+ levels! We fought them off and 4 of us made it onto the balloon. I can't believe they haven't fixed this bug! What an Epic fight we went through to get there and never mind the 30 min flight! Thanks for the video it was a huge help!

The balloon is on an hour long round trip, with the sandcrawler with the datacrons being about a half hour in. If you ask when someone last got on or off of it you can tell when it will arrive.

@FAPDegren I can second this, As a Jugg I was just able to Force Push another player onto both the ledge with the Red Datacron AND up onto the rear of the Sand crawler to go get the Matrix shard. Once the other guy was safely up there, I just Force Charge'd my way up to him. E Z Mode!

For those of you who are confused as me about the third datacron- ignore Degren's cursor on the map. You're going to head west out of Mos Anek. When you head that way it will look familiar.

I was able to get to the datacrons on the sandcrawler. Getting that datacron on the little ledge was tricky. Had to do that ride more then once.

The one on top of the bank is much easier to access from the rocks/canopy on the left side of bank

@19RedLineR74 Confirmed - if u are actually on the bugged balloon when you run back to the access point you will see the non bugged balloon already has started on its way round so you cant get on it. If this happens dont get on the next ballloon wait for the one after that which wont despawn :) Also when going for the red datacron stand above it and instead of walking forward face backwards to it then jump THEN press backwards quickly and let go, rinse and repeat until u fall!

there is a slightly quicker way to get to the first one. on the first roof top at the far right is a slopped cloth roof with a hole in the middle you can run along the wire and jump onto the bridge from there. Its only slightly shorter though.

Trick: for the Sandcrawler. if you miss but one of your friend succeeds you could use a juggernaut character to jump attack to the platform

@UHLANDUS Yes, Sith Warriors can also Charge a dueling player that is near the DC (+3 Willpower) as well. I was going crazy trying to get this one till a someone whispered me from up on the ledge. It felt cheap but I got the DC.

A friend just showed me an other way for the first datacron : just after the carpet, go on the top on the house, but don't jump on the boobs : on the right, there is a kinda of torn carpet. You can jump on it, then jump on a pipe, that you can see at 0:37 on the right. It's a bit harder, but really faster once you got it!

One way to make it easy is if you can get a Powertech on the sandcrawler. Duel him and he can grapple you up there. He can do your whole guild and save everyone lots of time.

@@happytime2781 Not rewarding at all. Simply frustrating. Jumping in SWTOR is the worst - litterally - of all videogames ever. Designing jumping puzzles for the datacrons in this game is beyond comprehension...

hmmm I play recently Batlefront II but beeing crap in online shooters I may consider to coming back to SWTOR ;) or do KOTOR. About datacrons it could be tought but from others side nice break from normal gameplay. in 1st datacrone I found part at 0:38 the most difficult

@@HummingbirdSound online productions can be really cool but the problem is u can spend eternity playing them.... I same time idn 100-300 hours let's say u can finish few single player games. I spended a LOT time playing in Last Chaos WoT, Smite, Warframe mostly plus others. Still havent finish Witcher dlc's don't touched previous parts, and many great games that lying in my desk or in steam :/ HW2 believing reviews is definetly good btw :)

The balloon takes about 1 hour to make a round trip, I caught it at 9:50PM and missed the first jump, went back to the boarding point again and around 10:50PM the balloon showed up again.

the third datacron is a bit confusing, the first map you showed you said "go up the path" you move your cursor up and to the right as if showing that's the path to follow

As of patch 1.1, the first datacron has to be achieved the long way again

@TheReef982 I just did this a few weeks ago with some buddies- they were inquisitors and knocked me up on top of the sandcrawler. I then grappled them up to the top.

@FAPDegren It works, I had a sniper blow me to the top of the Jawa vehicle and I pulled the sniper up using my tank pull. Just get between the sniper and the Jawa vehicle, jump up, and have the sniper explode ya up there. Look up the 27 second video called Swtor-Datacron-Tatooine-No-Balloon.

@lisko358 I can comfirm that this works. Saves you a lot of time if you have Sith warrior friend. Then he can just use force charge to jump up to you.

Dude, fuck the despawning balloon. It did the same thing to me. Know what I did? Am a jugg right, well, got some others together. The force push to the bottom cron is easy. Leap, get it, bam, done. Well, the top one, the matrix shard is tougher. Have to push them at the right angle in the back left side. Took an hour to get it down, but we all got the crons. Give it a go peeps, if the balloon is screwin' ya up

If you play on a pvp server and there is a Republic player on the sandcrawler where the Datacrons are on, you can force charge on to it if you are a marauder. This is worth it because waiting and flying took me OVER 2 HOURS. Kill the dude, get the loot.
