Endgame Crafting
If you’re crafting on a high level character, you may choose to craft for endgame rather than for fun. Endgame crafting is crafting purely for statistics - to raise your character’s stats, like your power or endurance, so you can perform better in combat. This includes crafting armorings, mods, enhancements, hilts, barrels, relics, earpieces, implants and augments. Knowing which crafting skills to take for endgame requires you to be familiar with what pieces of endgame gear each crew skill can craft, and which types of stats your specific type of character needs. For example, a healer needs an entirely different set of gear than a tank.

🔗 Which Crafting Skills can craft what for Endgame Armor
/ dokjyu7
Artifice
The first crafting skill you can choose is Artifice. Artificers can craft a variety of things, and the one they’re most well known for are color crystals that can change the color of your lightsaber’s blade, or the color of the bolts that come out of your blasters. Artificers are also the only crafters that can craft dyes - there’s over fourty craftable dyes, plus some special ones from reputation. Artificers can also craft lightsabers and double-bladed lightsabers, relics, shields generators and focuses. Artifice’s complementary skills are Archaeology and Treasure Hunting.
Synthweaving
If you’re looking to craft armor for your force user, try out Synthweaving. Synthweaving lets you craft armor for any type of Jedi or Sith.. you could technically even wear them on your non-force user, as all new crafted armors are adaptive and can be worn on characters that use light, medium or heavy armor. Synthweaving’s complementary skills are Archaeology and Underworld Trading.
Armormech
If you’d like to make armor for a non-force using character, pick Armormech. Armormech can craft armor that looks good on Troopers, Smugglers, Bounty Hunters and Imperial Agents. Armormech’s complementary skills are Underworld Trading and Scavenging.
Armstech
If you want to be able to craft blasters for your non-force-using characters, Armstech is the way to go. Unfortunately, most of the default craftable weapons, from lightsabers to blasters, are not moddable... And there’s no slot in the outfit designer for weapons. So be aware that a lot of the weapons you can craft might look cool, but they won’t be great for your high-level character. Because of this, I don’t really recommend picking up Armstech. If you do end up picking Armstech, its complementary skills are Investigation and Scavenging.
Cybertech
Cybertech is the odd one out when it comes to cool things you can craft, as they can’t make weapons or armor. Instead, they can create a motley of items including ship parts, grenades, and even a few speeders. Cybertech’s complementary skills are Scavenging and Underworld Trading.
Biochem
The last crafting skill is Biochem, and like Cybertech, it’s a bit odd. Biochemists craft medpacs, stims and adrenals - all of which can mean the difference between life and death in tricky combat situations, like heroics, operations or flashpoints. At the time of making this video, Biochem crafters can also use special re-usable medpacs, stims and adrenals. These schematics are earned from the Umbara flashpoint and require Biochem level 600 to craft AND to use. Because of these schematics, biochem is sometimes known as the most “useful” skill, since the items crafted by all the other skills can technically just be bought from the GTN, without requiring that actual crafting skill to use them. Biochem’s complementary skills are Bioanalysis and Diplomacy.

* Free-to-play and preferred can now hold 1 million credits * Biochem can still make re-useable stims, adrenals and medpacs, but you get the schematics from the trainer and reverse engineering (not Umbara) * Everything else the same for 2021!

Exactly. I encourage Cybertech for new players because mods and enhancements can go into most of your gear and weapons if they are adaptive. And getting a full set of adaptive is pretty cheap. Bingo, most of your gear just needs some upgrading every X number of levels instead of replacement.

One thing I want to add is that, if you don't intend to craft, you can still make some bank by selling mats on the GTN. Some materials go for more, so its important to pay attention to the GTN market. With the server merges, the market will go into chaos for a few days, but once it settles, you'll get a good idea what is worth how much.

Nice video, thank you. Small addendum for new players: -crafting is a money sink not really worth it generaly -if you're a f2p or preferred, you'll encounter too many paywalls, just pick slicing until you get a sub or some crafting related unlocks on gtn or cartel market to make your life easier -exceptions are biochem (reusables), cyber (grenades), and slicing for money -while leveling, don't plan on crafting your gear (you can, but you level so fast your gear rapidly becomes outdated) -endagme crafting is a lot of work for not the best gear (logical, but had to point this out) -artifice, armormech for fashion, and when they add weapons to the outfit designer, weaponstech -big problem: generaly any old recipe you learnt you will keep in archives, but BW can erase totaly some recipes (biochem reusables have disappeared and came back, for example, crafting droid parts is purely gone cause they're not in game anymore) And a last, more general note for people that don't have a lot of time in game, by the time you have all professions maxed and are crafting the best craftable mods and items, a new crafting tear will appear and you're back to money sink phase.

Super late here, but you can as a f2p player you can choose 1 crafting skill on one character, 1 gathering skill on another and 1 more gathering skill on another character and store all the stuff you collect in your legacy bank. That way you can collect resources with 2 characters and craft with the other character. Just a tip for anyone wanting to craft as a f2p player.

For a gatherer I do one mission skill, slicing and one of the three you have (arch, bio or scav). And I pair the gathering and mission skill for a craft, so I'd just have to drop slicing and they could take a craft and have the two matched to it. I'm doing extra alts after having all the crafts done. For f2p I recommend slicing if you only get one skill. It's free money and you don't even have to sell anything if you don't want to although the slicing mats do sell if you want to.

if you sub, I highly recommend you get the following mix of skills with your different characters (assuming all Jedi or Sith specs). Keep in mind they have to all be on the same server to share items. Start a character, level them to lvl 10. Pick up the green gathering skills bio-analysis scavenging and archeology, you could even do two with those skills, but one will do to start. You'll see why in a moment: Next train two characters in Cybertech with skills slicing, and underworld trading (your first character(s) have the gathering skill scavenging to complete your cybertechs, get one Artifice with slicing and treasure hunting, your gathering characters have the archeology to complete that circle, and train a character in biochem, slicing and diplomacy, your gathering character has the bioanalysis to complete that skill, and lastly get a character in synthweaving with slicing and underworld trading, the gathering character has the archeology to round out that skill. So with your gathering character you want to collect every marked resource, it's not that tedious like you would think, that will give you all the green materials for level one crafting when you do Coruscant or Dromund Kaas. You don't need to harvest slicing resources you only get credits but nothing towards crafting, you have to run missions to get your blue and sometimes purple materials. You need two cybertechs to keep up with the other skills because they make twice as many useable items, grenades, mods, enhancements and earpieces. You can supplement your materials inventory on the Galactic trade network, you won't need any green mats but you might need the blues and purples. With this setup, you will be able to equip all custom armors and weapons and have all blue equipment and if you invest some time and money into the missions, some purple equipment. You have all the bases covered. I equip all my characters as soon as they hit level ten with all blue and purple stuff that I made for them myself, then I proceed to solo the heroic mission on the starting planet, finish that planet's storyline. You can go to the capital planet and solo a couple heroics right off but for soloing the tougher heroics you will need to upgrade your equipment when you level up (I do it when I hit level 18) Once you get this setup going you'll always have blue equips for all your characters from then out (you will probably need some funds so selling some of those equipments can get you the funds you need to buy more materials.

Interesting - so if your planning for some end game content then the following is probably best: Biochem - craft medpacks, stims ,adrenals - can use special reusable's of the above (schematics earned from Ambara flashpoint +biochem 600 to craft + use) -complementary skills: Bio-analysis & diplomacy
@BrazilianBikini38
@BrazilianBikini38 4 жыл бұрын
my recommendations: dont take scavenging or underworld trading if you are doing crew skills for money. 3 of the 6 crafting skills work with those, so half of all crafters have them, and spam the GTN with the products. With such a low price on the GTN you wont make the money that makes it worthwhile. This is especially true, as Swtorista said, with scavengers as they can also scavenge droids that are killed, adding even more to be put on the GTN. biochem--bioanalysis (1) + diplomacy (1) + animals (1) armormech--scavenging (1) + underworld trading (1) + droids (1) synthweavinig--archeology (1) + underworld trading (2) cybertech--scavenging (2) + underworld trading (3) + droids (2) artifice--archeology (2) + treasure hunting (1) armstech--scavenging (3) + investigation (1) + droids (3) slicing (1) scavenging nodes x 3 + droids x 3 = a lot that gets gathered and put on the GTN. Too much, it drives the price to the floor for the items, so much it almost isnt worth scavenging nodes at all. Crafters that use scavenging might be better off to drop scavenging, take up slicing then make the money from that plus more, and buy the required scavenging mats cheap off the GTN. Slicing makes a lot more money that scavenging, and certainly makes enough money to do this. Underworld trading has 3 classes that use it--again too many, GTN goes down. There are 2 classes who use archeology (nodes x 2), and biochem is the only class that can scavenge dead animals (nodes x 1 + animals x 1). They do produce more that the single crafting skills, but not enough to affect the GTN much.
@Elrohof
@Elrohof 3 жыл бұрын
I'd say that's counterintuitive. Since three types of crafters need scavenging you'll have three types of crafters to sell to. One scavenger can barely supply himself if he scavenges for his own needs, now add in the three other crafters needing those same materials. I've done 1-3 class playthroughs per year, always doing gathering skills to make money while leveling characters that I don't even intend to keep. Leveling from 1-50, IIRC only paid me 1 mil, and I'm including all the cash I made from selling trash and leftover items into that. Selling only scavenging mats via GTN gave me 3 mil last time, bioanalysis gave me 1,5 mil. So for the sake of making money while leveling, unless you're going to level up multiple characters back to back, slicing is the worst one. Slicing only gets you direct cash, which is only a bonus if you're gathering for multiple back to back characters because low level crafting items don't have a huge demand and as such just one character could oversaturate the already small market if your timing is off. Then again, this is only the spectrums from lvl 1-50.

Thank you for the insight. Just curious, let's say I have two friends called Bill&Bob and we're all preferred players. Is it viable to cooperate in order to get the good stuff? I can do two gathering skills, Bob can do two crafting, Bill can do one of each, or we can even use alts..
@BrazilianBikini38
@BrazilianBikini38 2 жыл бұрын
@@destroyerinazuma96 you can do all crafting on one account. The recommendations I was making were on a player's first character starting out the game new. At this time crafting is for making money, some are better than others for that. A crafter that is a money sink makes a new player's life harder. Most people do eventually make all crafters using alts. So yes, mix and match preferred 2 crafting/gathering skills to get them all. Recent changes to the game made resource storage of crafting materials account wide, so anyone who gathers will be able to gather for any crafter, no matter which alt is doing which. You dont even have to transfer anything. Just gather on one, log out, log in the crafter, and then craft. Another good way to gather is with companions. You can send them on gathering missions. Costs a small amount of money to do the mission, but they do it while you are doing something else. The higher the influence they are, the better the results of the mission or craft.

Thing I like about crafting as opposed to other games is that the stuff I make- as long as I keep up in tier- is actually useful and better than what you'd get just questing. I actually want to make the new lightsabers I unlock in artifice and keep leveling that skill as all of them are actually useful even before endgame. When I played WoW, I wound up giving up on my professions as nothing you make has ANY use except for the top tier end-game stuff... Why would I grind for hours making useless crap for a point I may never reach?

I played WoW too, back in the Burning Crusade days... How the time flies. When it comes to SWTOR, I actually have a problem deciding between Artifice and Synthweaving for my Jedi Guardian... I am not sure, which will be more useful. I kinda like the idea of Artificing - crafting lightsabers, crystals, hilts, but Synthweaving can provide more gear in general + armoring mods with stats I need... Damn, I don't know.

@@VesGaming_ I went with Artifice, and personally I think it benefitted me more overall. You're constantly getting new armor, so even if it isn't as good as it COULD be, it is always pretty good. @@WeHaveNoTalentSorry Yeah, it's the Star Wars version of hacking. The skill can get you a decent amount of free credits and, for end game gear, sliced components become essential for crafting so they sell reasonably well.

I found slicing kind of annoying because it gives those credit boxes that dont stack and you have to open them all after each gathering.

Back in my WoW BC days, I played a Warrior with weaving/cloth armour making. For fashion. One night someone asked if there was a tailor who could craft them some moon cloth Resto Druid set. I did it for them, and to this day I believe that that day alone was worth grinding weaving (on Warrior, of all classes). Edit: patron provided the ingredients, I wouldn't buy anything expensive for a stranger just like that. But I did have the skill level and IRL time.

This is probably the biggest difference in my "Preferred" status from my "Subscription" status that I notice. (OK, Travel and Medical Drones too) Although I didn't really use them that much - I miss having all three Crew Skills available. And since I have several Toons, I've spread out my Crew Skilling, so that they compliment each other in the Legacy. Eventually, I will produce anything that I want for any of my Toons.

Low level beginning players should probably go slicing to help with training costs ext ext. even at max level you can get a fair bit of credits per hours via lvl 500 caches on the higher level planets that helps alot with the early gearing stages of late game.

free to play tip : .... 1 char crew skill (ie) armortech and another char crew skill (ie) underworld training ...then using the char with underworld trading send them on constant missions while doing dialogs etc , then store them in your legacy storage and when you switch back to your char with the amortech skill you will have the materials you need to craft ... then apply a little dash of ocd and before you know it both crew skills from each char will be progressing quite fast ......hope that helps anyone out there ........ almost forgot ...it seems when you have items in the legacy storage you dont need to go and get them each time ..... you can craft using the materials in the storage even if they are not in your inventory

Your main should be biochem for the reusables. Then your stealth toon should be three gathering skills for ease of mat farming and the remainder should be the ones that can craft your prefered augments.
@sath2749
@sath2749 7 жыл бұрын
I agree. if you plan on doing progression Operations then Biochem is a must. I recently switched my main imp and pub to bio for the raids. I am not one that crafts, but it is useful to have armormech or synweaving just to make MK-10s for your augments. If you have a lot of toons like some of us who have no life then I suggest only having 1 of each crafter besides bio. take as many gathering skills on all alts. you should never want to have any mission skill more than on 1 toon. I personally have 1 of each crafter where they have the 3 needed skills (craft, gather, and mission) then I have biochem (craft skill only with alternate gathering skills) on the toons I raid the most with, all my other toons have 3 gathering skills and 1 is always slicing.

I then go to each skill and decline, you get points if you do; after all that, I decide the skills and train, then finish with the quest bonus. I then use the heroic on fleet to quick travel to the heroic on the planet.

I thought the idea of my sniper crafting its own rifles was cool, but if the weapons are still not that interesting, i'm probably going to drop the idea and pick another crafting skill. Thanks. Note that i'm quite hooked into the game right now and may end up having all crafting skills on various characters, but the sniper being my first, it might be a better choice for me to start with something useful/profitable right off the bat (Biochem ? Cybertech ? Artifice ?) P.S : i'm subscribed.

Overall, what crafting skill would you recommend to improve your character stats/efficiency wise while still being able to do a little money by selling ? That's a lot of questions, sorry ^^
