I would love to spend my retirement doing SETI, if I could think of anything that was not already being done better than I could. Have watched lots of videos trying to find ideas.

We are just extremely lucky advanced apes who branched from Chimpanzes 7+/- Million years ago on a tiny piece of rock with a moon in just the right orbits. It's extremely unlikely we will find intelligent life because the odds of our own evolution are miniscule in a hostile, godless universe.
